Would having your own legion be worth it? I know that if the legion has just 1 member than the planetary defense will be really low at 2% but think about the resources.

I'm just wondering since I really want to complete my research tree. My planets don't seem to need the planetary defense bonuses but it helps.

In conclusion, is having your own legion just to have your own base worth it in the long run? Thanks in advance

It really depends on what you value more. Resources or strong legion.
I know someone who is in a one man legion and he gets along just fine by himself with loads of research coming out of his base.

You also have to consider NPC's. Do you care about boss and elite drops? If so...are you willing to take them out solo? Same goes for bases.

well depends on the bases, if your of reasonable rank you could easily take out level 2s solo, same with most level 3s. as for bosses, yea that would be painful.

you could always have a full legion, just be the one that puts all into upgrading or at the min all the EM and CTP then at week ends change base output to by contribution and enjoy as you gave all or most % and most other members will be happy with the mon-fri output if the base is a high level with nice outputs for in the week :)

if it's "even" distribution, one man base will give 100% production
while a real legion will have 40%+100%/M where M is the member count
for example, 50 member legion is 42% (assuming everyone is active)
It is technically possible to go over 100% production per person but I'm gonna stay off that subject.....

Given that, having a "small" one man base will yield more reward than a small legion
But if you can get into a larger legion that have higher base, it might not be worth it.

If you can join a lv 8 real base, a lv 5 one-man might not be worth it (specifically 42%*3600%*8/5=24.192 while a one may lv 5 only yields 21, or 100%*2100%, note that the 8/5 is the special space difference)
In fact, a lv 8 real base might beat a lv 6 one-man base:
a real base is more likely to have extended space, while you would have to shoulder the cost alone if you are in a one-man base.
higher base, ofc, have higher aviliability bonus.

Following ths ame logic, lvl 7 base is also better than 4s: 42%*3100%*7/4=22.785 (4 is max at 16)
it is even possible that it is better than 5, for same reason as above as well as for the fact that 5 might not be able to use hyper tier production module which gives more res per space(wiki does not know)
Note that 7 is not defintely better than 5 because compare to 5 it is: 42%*3100%*7/5=18.228--caused by smaller space diffrential

And lv 6 base beats 4 hands down 42%*2600%*6/4=16.38
lv 5 base beats 3 hands down 14.7

It's not that hard to find a legion with lv 5 base to join, it's also not hard to have a solo-3 so any further comparison is kinda pointless. but u got the gist.
The thing is... the higher rank you are, the more likely you are able to support a high/semi-high base all on ur own, but at the same time, you are also more likely to join a bigger legion with a higher base.... so~

Consider whether you are willing to spend GP for expansion of space, calculate the estimated return of the one-man base that you would be able to support, and see if you can find a legion that have a base that beats it that you can join.

And at last, it better not be a Mineral base... cause the excess amount u collect by being alone would all go to upkeep... same logic for a research base if you are mostly contracting.

Just out of curiousity, what would a level 6 one man base yield with four Hyperfactories?

Lots, OulPlay probably would know if he set Blackwood Hall ti contribution %

But would you be able to afford the upkeep of the base?

440*1.4(loyalty)*2(defender)*26(level)*4(5x mega)
=128128

forgot 1.4 in above post and put it as 1~ luckily, even if it's 1.4 each of the comparison stands...

What about activated abilities like Trade Routes?

As long as base upkeep doesn't go above 25B a day, I think I could afford it.

In theory. :D

just multiply the final result by 1.02 to 1.22, depend on # of trade pacts

might be better off just getting some QSE and TFs for the tera project chain if you got the cash spare.
if not the EM and CTP needed for a lv 6 base from start might be better spent buying good planets
