Scan Runs - How many to purge

Post subject:  Scan Runs - How many to purge
Just as a generalisation - how much should you purge?

I'm close to purging 20% of my last maximum.
My scan will have increased by 10%

I have 432 out of 504 left ATM - 9 Very small left, nothing smaller.
I stopped last time just as I hit Very Poor chance.

So, when should I have my next run?

When you have the next tier of scanners completed OR if you already have Hyper-fluxes done, then purge until only planets you own or want to take are left

That's about 300 more planets away for me then - I have mk3 hyperfluxes - 75% of my scans are junk, 15% are Mine, and the remaining 10% I want but am too weak to take/keep.

Work on missions that give you scanning modules or will increase your scanning, if you change race/profession each time then purge everything you are not gonna take or give away first to maximise the benefits.

I have done - hence the 10% increase for my next run - do you think I've purged enough then?

I try to get my planet count below what you've got now and I have continuum analyzers and probably a couple other things you don't have just yet.

Continuums would be too expensive for me right now - I'm only making 0.5B/day with recent upgrades, and I have relay repairs to pay soon. 7.5B/run is about right for me right now.

I'm at the stage where I don't have enough MP/H to massively push my funds up, but too much MP/H that I cap every 8 hours or so.

Understand that. Just giving you some insight to how low I try to go with purging before I scan again.

i purge everything smaller than average and most VL planets
then i purge all gas planets smaller than VM
then i purge enemy planets not worth it
then its time for scan run

If you are gonna race change and/or use limited arti, I say purge all planets that you don't have a reason to keep
Otherwise, I say make 30-50 expected scan "room" for each day, in term of CR, the run is going to set you back. So the more expensive the module/lower ur income, the longer u should wait between each two runs.

I have enough purgers to let me scan 250 new planets- will hold out for another 50-100 before i go again
