Defense up to Overlay Engines, hull to Deep Core Neutroniums, then Heavy Antiprotons.

here's what i had in mind:
should i continue researching Zero Point Energy, research Antimatter Streams, or Astro Binding?
(btw, i'm catching up with my attack, which is behind my defense by about 100)

*Sigh* Finish Zero-point energy, do the next tier of defence. Then do Antiprotons. Then, Astro-binding and whatever structures are after it. Uninstall a defense module, and put on more weapons.

The simple thing is, Overlays are more efficient. You can replace your current defenses with overlays (unless they're ring thrusters) and come out with more defenses for the same/less space, so get them. I suppose finish zero point since you've already started it, but get defense afterwards.

the only reason the shield is up there is to take advantage of my shield regen time. If i needed more space i would've invested more rank points for decks. Besides, i want to be an all-rounder with energy being the highest.

well TECHNICALLY at your rank, if your slow ranking or in a research legion ( what it seems like ) you could research whatever, and still be fine. You are leagues farther than I was at your level I didnt hit zero point until i was around rank 200. same thing with singularities.
