Id go for attack before defense. Energy efficiency and whatnot. id do the anti matter streams if you can fit 8 heavies. those should last you a good while. then hull. after that i dont know. I personally would have went for energy, but the consensus seems to be to go for def. Ive always managed to get by without using researched defenses though. Npc drops tend to be enough if you get them. (im almost triple your rank and you are actually farther in defense research than i am, yet i still dont get disabled often  )
