i know its 10x your rank of energy to auto (i almost have 11x) but how much att do u need to have effective npcing?!

This should work.

Just be careful when handling elites. Some of them can really hurt your xp ratio if you don't have enough attack to properly smack them around.

It should be noted that you require around 25k+ "NPC" attack, and not actual attack. :)

Its good that your nrg is nearly at 11x your rank too, as 10x your rank will just barely let you autorank, sometimes if the wrong elites come along you can find yourself a few hundred xp short.

With energy at 13x Rank, I can easily autorank with attack at 17.5x Rank (currently rank 874).

that sounds about right, I have an energy bar ratio of 11.7 and an NPC attack of 18.8 and I'm JUST shy of autoranking, always end up with a couple hundred ex needed...

just wondering, is this with or without memory implants?

I find that with 22x atk and 11x energy, I can autorank safely w/o implants as long as the elites are disapatched in time(the hundreds of exp they could hold altogether really does matter~)

For me i'm always rocking a neural, but thats mostly because i like to get a few mission completions in at the end of every npc run. Occasionally i'll use an rsl to get a few extra missions done too.

The UST will be your friend once you have access to it - the 8% attack bonus or the 10% to NPC's bonus helps a great deal.

i have a bit over 11x rank energy... and i rank with ease... eve if i hit elites/bosses...
how many shots it takes to kill Assassin? i am guessing that they are your problem... °
if i feel that i will be short on rank.. last few k XP to rank i sab some low XP NPC's so i get best xp drop out of them (like assassins) fully buffed (23k) att i manage to kill them in 7-8 shots... with sab i cut them in 5 sometimes in 6... but those 2 shots can give me extra 35-40 xp for killing Charger or Runner

Universal Service Terminal. It has 2 buffs every day that cost 30ctp each and rotate through all week. There is the attack and NPC attack that Toastar mentioned, a shield buff, hull buff, cloak buff, scan buff, and defense buff. Also at certain holidays there is a 3rd buff available. These buffs are also immune to CMs.

The attack needed depends your rank.

What you are aiming for is really to kill certain npcs in a specific number of shots. The number of shots needed to kill NPCs goes down as you rank increases (the max damage you can do to matched npcs goes up faster than their HP so it requires fewer hits to be at max in order to get the min shots to disable them). There is a lot of math you can do, but about 36x rank NPC attack is good for ranks above rank 275.

the higher your attack the less energy you need up to a certain point where you cap on all elites and bosses and kill all npcs in the min shots

I suppose it also depends on how many npc slots you have available.

More slots = better selection. Once they fill up with junk, use tact remodulation and start again.

Your crazy, lol. When I was that rank I had about 20x rank in attack and about 10.5x rank in energy. You should be able to autorank if you have better than that, although its no guarentee since Dan has introduced assassins and such into the mix since I was there.

Other things to keep in mind are upkeep, art production and repair timer.

You want your upkeep as low as possible but including your best weapons(cept quasi) hull and as much def as you can.
Your art production is your number 1 priority, forget research and only go after toxics when you can build a 15/16x very large one.
Use your repair timer properly!! this is your friend. Lowish damage cap and huge hull (comes from art production), my hull is over 29k and whilst npcing I only need to repair once every 20 mins or so.
