Zolazin Chain (can be started at Rank 5) Total energy: 46,025
Kronyn Chain (can be started at Rank 5) Total energy: 85,500
Genetarr Chain (can be started at Rank 10) Total energy: 51,100
Mylarai Chain (can be started at Rank 10) Totals energy: 136,875
Xecti Chain (can be started at Rank 20) Totals energy: 150,825
Drannik Chain (can be started at Rank 185) Totals energy: 154,525
Lazuli Chain (can be started at Rank 190) Totals energy: 136,500
Taltherian Chain (can be started at Rank 230) Totals energy: 403,850

Note, as soon as you get the NFX-2 Virus ability, you should be working on “Warez my backup?” Use the NFX-2 Virus ability on 30 enemies alerted by other ships.

Also as you do this, you will get 2/3 of the "Choices, choices" medal done. Unlock additional non-player enemy battle slots to bring your total to 8. The slots are from the Lazuli and Zolazin chains. The last set of slots is in the Sha'din chain.

  1. Start by being a Kronyn Hacker. We start here as it is a relatively easy to obtain race for low levels. They will appreciate the research boost from the race’s special ability. The bonus for using the ability 15 times is the Kronyn TransThruster (+50 defense and 5% defense boost vs NPCs). This will see you though all of the NPC based medals.
    • Work on The Erudite: Use the Kronyn's Erudition ability on a planet 15 times.
    • Seeing Red: Disable 500 enemy ships from the 'Crimson Blades' without the use of any temporary beneficial effects on your ship.
    • Hacker vs Hacker: While a member of the Hacker profession, disable 900 ships from the 'Sha'din Coalition'. (Don’t worry if you don’t finish this. We will come back to it when we get to and Drannik/Lazuli.)
    • If you want something done right …: Disable 30 non-player 'Boss' enemies (10+ rewards) by yourself, without alerting them to your legion.
    • Can't get you out of my mind: Activate a Neural Interface while you are a member of each unlockable race

  2. Next move onto Mylarai, profession doesn’t matter. At low levels, the mineral upgrades will help.
    • The Enriched: Use the Mylarai's Enrich ability on a planet 15 times.
    • Continue working on Seeing Red, If you want something done right and Can't get you out of my mind

  3. Next move onto Zolazin Saboteur. Zolazin is a pretty easy race to open so we will use it early. The Saboteur ability will allow you to take planets easier by destroying an attack/defense/population building. It is especially useful if there are multiple Sabs in your legion.
    • Silent but deadly: Use the Saboteur's Sabotage ability on 25 planetary structures.
    • Continue working on Seeing Red, If you want something done right, and Can't get you out of my mind

  4. The next choice is Genetarr, any profession. Nothing much to write but this is a low energy to change to race. Mind Influence is useful for “If you want something done right”.
    • Mind Over Matter: Use the Genetarr's Mind Influence ability on 100 enemy targets that were alerted by someone else in your legion.
    • Revenge of the captured: While a member of the Genetarr race, disable 500 'Stryll Assassin' ships from the Stryll Order Reward
    • Continue working on Seeing Red, If you want something done right, and Can't get you out of my mind

  5. Lazuli is the next race to turn to. I would suggest going hacker if you haven’t finished Hacker vs Hacker.
    • Our former oppressors: While a member of the Lazuli race, disable 50 'Lazuli Harrower' ships from the Lazuli Syndicate.
    • Continue working on Seeing Red, If you want something done right, and Can't get you out of my mind

  6. I would choose Drannik next, hacker if you haven’t finished Hacker vs Hacker.
    • Finish Seeing Red
    • Finish If you want something done right
    • Continue working on Can't get you out of my mind

  7. The Xecti Chain is pretty energy intensive so that goes towards the end. Profession should not matter here. This is going to be the hard one. Here is where you should take Exotica. The race’s defense ability will help you keep it for that 24 hours needed to get the medal. Someone in my legion suggested going Konquel before the invade and then changing. If you are Konquel, it’s not a bad idea (assuming you’ve already collected your daily reward as that race), however, I think that for the vast majority of players, the 20% invasion boost isn’t worth the extra race change.
    • King of the Hill: Guard the planet named 'Exotica' after you have conquered and controlled it for at least 1 day.
    • Continue working on Can't get you out of my mind

  8. Your last race is the Taltherian. To get here is by far the most expensive when it comes to energy. It is just slightly less than Xecti, Drannik and Mylarai put together.
    • Finish The Urbane: Use the Taltherian's Urbanize ability on a planet 15 times.
    • Finish Can't get you out of my mind

I think the lag here is going to be the 15 x 3 races planetary upgrade ability. Since each one is 40 hours, that's 1,800 hours or 75 days. You can probably do most of the others in less than a day if you are extremely lucky and have lots of GP/refills. This is all making the assumption that you can get Exotica when you want it, first try. If not, add 24 hours.

Now to get this on the Wiki, cause there's currently nothing on the new medal system at all on the wiki.

The sabotage ability also will slow you down.

Good catch. That's another 8.3333 days.

It's super easy though. I just targeted small enemy planets. New players always put some defense on them. One hit then sab. Was a breeze.

The planet doesn't even need any structures on it to sab, it still takes 10 energy and counts toward the medal. :)

I'll chime in that you can use some of these race changes for dual purposes - for example,

Xecti Fixer: Having one of your race switches include a Fixer means you can get the full boost when you install the Biomimetic Sealers from the current quest chain
Mylarai/Genetarr Explorer: Might as well get in a boosted scan run while you're at it. If you have Protogrid buffs, be sure to use one while your scans are buffed. (since the time on the Proto-grid is *very* short, scan until the button is greyed out, then fire the buff)

Is the extra 50 planets or so worth the chance to break through the cloak of the first 100-200 you might have scanned?

Also are the timers for Mylarai/Kronyn/Taltherianall the same, because if not theoretically speaking you can swap between each race and use the abilities knock them out in 1/3 of the time. You can also through in sab, but this is assuming you have the energy and massive amount of GP to do this.

Genetarr is another time related medal... 30 min x 100 uses = 3000 min or 50 hours or just over 2 days.

That brings the minimum up to about 84.5 days.

The Black Hat medal could be added in your list. Just a thought.

*shrug* I'm just sayin' if you want to do any scans with the maximum possible scan in the game, this race change is a good time to do it. (obviously you'd want to have all possible scanning gear for the maximum benefit)

And the race timers are shared, so if you switch Urbanize and then switch to Kronyn, you still have to wait for hours. This is also true for *any* races, it appears. I was Genetarr and used the ability, then switched to Kronyn. The Erudition timer was set to 40 hours and I couldn't use the ability!

How could a racial ability with a half-hour cooldown trigger a 40-hour timer? Maybe you just have to be Kronyn for 40 hours before first use?

I went from konqul to kronyn, erudited straight away. maybe if the racial timer is active, it sets the next timer to max?

Guess it's what's known in certain circles as "a bummer". I'll be careful about that if it ever arises. Went Genetarr too early according to this, but great guide, this thread needs a sticky :D

By switching races from Kronyn to Mylarai, will I able to retain/carry forward the Kronyn's ability, Erudition into Mylarai?
