I have almost completed the first tier of dimensional logistics.

What would you do next

1) Spend 4 months of doing the last 2 tiers of 30 million research each

or

2)convert all that research into credits and have 1.5 trillion credits in the 4 months

Turn the research into credits. It'll help you in the long run for buying research mods and even artifacts if you need them which will help your ship more than the last two tiers of dimensional logistics. If you look through the forums there was someone recently offering +110's for bases for free as long as you pay the cost of the modules themselves, and that's what you call a win-win situation.

I finished Tier 2, and am now doing a split - credits any time I'm under 200 billion, research otherwise. I'm thinking of going for Clear Skies, and using that time of no invading to do the research, since I won't need the cash for invasions.

:o Wow! I am often under 20 billion. I wish I EVEN HAD 200 billion credits. How long did you do contracts to accumulate so much?

I do same thing but try to keep 300 bill

28k mining, 50+k research output. I don't take anymore planets for either since credits to colonize/invade arr better spent on AP worlds.

Set an amount of credits you want as a minimum and convert research into credits whenever you go below. That's what I'd do.

Not especially long - I get about 700 million an hour from research contracts, so about 16.8 billion a day. That doesn't count minerals, which pays upkeep and still makes a profit.
