Are these worth putting on ship? because a legionmate told me that the space of the highest tier ones will just give a bigger dmg cap, resulting in more dmg. so should i get researchable? and what about non-researchable? what would be the decks-def ratio which would make it good for having a defense module on? |

They are more efficient than most npc drops items- and they are improved in efficiency for space once you have three velox thrusters Mad not to get all 8 researched and fittable defence mods unless you like having a ship that melts in harsh sunlight |

The massive defense is worth it. I know I don't have them yet but I'm judging this based on the fact that most higher ranks have them. |

As is everything at that rank Captain Obvious but they are cheaper in upkeep than most top tier stuff. |

At low ranks you're better off with the npc mods. and no duh you have no space for them |

Ive got a full 8 of the top tier defense mods, with 3 velox my unbuffed, non-aerlen defense is 12302, 14349 when attacked...... yea there good for it. |

I have all 8 defence modules. Whilst they aren't quite top tier (TT Array and Exergonic) it is still worthwhile getting all 8 online. |

Although if you're not going for a max-space ship, I don't think they're the best option. For example, keeping deck space under 2k and only installing most efficient mods, you're better off with these defenses: Velox Thruster x3 Sha'din Forcevoider x4 (until you can upgrade from those pesky hyperports!) Silthion T-Phase Utricle x4 Dark Phase Engine x4 and maybe BM50 Convoy Shuttle x3 This yields approx 2710 (not including volex %) defense for only 398 deck space, giving a final ratio of 6.8def/decks (or 2410 def, 338 decks, and 7.13 def/deck if not using the BM50) |

Ratio of 8.04. Your set up only yields a 7.88 ratio after the velox bonus. Toss on Velox x3 for another 90 decks and you get a 9.37 ratio (498 decks, 4665 defense). |
