Seems 40 is a good number to aim for, as an average player to be honest. Unless you're like TBP, that is.

mines really sad, 24.99 at rank 439, but i only stopped putting points into decks about 40 levels ago, boosted tac officers by 800 since then

Putting points into decks it good for lower ranks didn't do me any harm I used at least 2000 points that way i stopped once i started getting a load of ship bots from my arti pulls which was quite recently!

yeah im at 3220 decks atm, still only getting like, 2-3 ship-bots per day, but im steadily boosting my arti production too.
im actually trying to keep tac officers and engineers equal until i have energy = 10x my level with relays off.

If your goal is getting 10x your rank in energy, the best way of doing it is to put ALL rank points into energy ASAP. Your attack will suffer slightly for just a bit, but that squares up pretty quickly once you get your energy goal. Once you get to 10x, maintaining it is easy by just using your 5 rank up points for engineers while switching your rescued prisoner points to all tactical officers. Look at it mathematically. To go from 9x to 10x at rank 300 takes 150 rank points. To do that at rank 600 it takes 300 rank points.

Just uninstalled my scanners and put in an extra two thrusters.. 29. That really sucks. D: It'd only come to 31 if I installed Heavy Thetarons, too.

( Attack + Defense ) / Rank

That's the correct formula, right?

Optimally it would be calculated without buffs, as most people compare their ship's base stats (as anyone can buff).

hum I'm at 20 for a lvl 500 xD but my ration energy is at x12 my rank ^^ so I use to take more then 30 rank a week
