1: Build an SSB ship.

2: Get a lot of Hull on your ship.

3: Get T-Plasma Gemini Cannons. (This is all you need. 99.99999% Naked Ship)

4: Profit???

My suggestions:

1. Don't worry *too* much about decks in the kiddie pool.
Remember that it takes a ridiculously small amount of cloak in the lower ranks to be completely invisible to "pure" SSBs.

2. If you want to be an SSB down the track, target a rank you'd like to hit it by, per Senatorhung's excellent suggestion.

3. If at any stage you can't fit all the scanners you have available, you probably need more decks.

4. Be a mod snob. Add as many decks as you like up to 2000 (and later more if you like), as long as the modules are deck efficient and you replace poor mods with better ones as they become available.

5. Always be building your Artifact Production.

wrong in so many ways.....

§1 have fun......
if you dont like this game, and have fun playing it you wont bother to come back and improve your ship daily

§2. build up as high Artifact production as posible
60K ap roughtly = you gain 1 of each common artifact, and that translate to +3 rank points(= 6 Engineers/Tactical Officers), + 3 defence (Helmsmen), + 4 Scientists, +70 Cargo, +10 hull, +5 shield (and +2 decks, if you need them)
soner or later this is where 90% of your stats will come from

§3. Gain Ranks and make sure you fill all planet slots
you can sit at rank 1, and gain 50.000 to 100.000 AP pr day from a base (if you can find a legion that will alov you to do that)
or you can get to rank 400, where have 100 planets, and can easily gain 300 ap/planet * 100 planets = 30.000 AP pr hour = 720.000 AP's pr day + 50.000 to 100.000 AP bonus from a base
= you will gain stats from artifact points 8 times faster at rank 400 then you would by just staying rank 1 and socking up AP from a base

§4. Go SSB to get max effect of the dammage cap
you dont need to do this from rank 1, you you plane to stop ranking at rank 400 and build up your strength theire, you can basickly add 400 decks to help you rank up and scan planets at low rank, and will still end up SSB once you reach rank 400
but most importained you need to make sure that beeing SSB doesnt conflict with §1 for you

§5 Dont bother with crappy mission modules like T-Plasma Gemini Cannons
Gemini Cannons doesnt make you harder to kill, they just make the attacker spendt more Repair Nanodrones (Uses Left: 16306) to kill you, but if his artifact production is high enougth that hardly matters
if you want to go for mission/NPC/BM/LM modules, go for those that increase your hull

Protean Armory/Protean Arsenal
CK69 Assault Sentry (6% hull bonus)
Kalvium Fortified Plating (2 * 5% hull bonus)
Raix-Radiated Plating III (size 20, Hull +1560)
Stacked Attiroth Plating (size 25, Hull +2000 and 5% hull bonus)
Nanite Re-Assembler (Activated Ability: Permanently increases your hull by 50. Costs 3000 Exotic Matter to use. Has a 20 hour cooldown.)

Hull can't be debuffed, so every time you add more of it without increasing your dammage cap, you are slowly makes your ship harder and harder to kill

Lol this is the opposite how not to play the game since doing it this way you wont be playing it much and its just a waste of time. :D

wxpwcted ssb thread, got one...

my target ssb rank is 5k, not hampered by that at all.
from what ive found you typical ssb that is not a reset player = average for their level stats ( there are of course exceptions )

if you really want a tough ship follow this path ;
start gl
speed rank as fast as you can
get a fair amount of good planets - actual good planets
reset, passing said good planets off to someone, only to keep them later when you can take them.
play hardcore ssb cause lets face it starting off with a huge springboard you only need to research 3 things, so no need for any rp planets, and yor ssb so no need for mining much,
play how ya like, it dont matter at this point.

other options are :
play the game normally, aquire stuff, grow, do projects, etc.
slow rank cause thats your thing
be an invisible player, cause thats your thing > see koolaid for help on that, or just install everything that says cloak
be a huge trader, cause thats your thing
be a huge traitor, cause thats your thing

fun thing about war, there are several ways to be strong, tough, "annoying to kill", etc.
fun thing about GL, people generally equate strength to just attack and defense, but mostly in damage recieved, because lets face it, people dont play ssb's for the damage cap, they play them for the damage ratio, if every rank 1000 ssb suddenly started taking 500 damage per shot from every average lsb they ran accross, i'd bet they may change their setup, thats just me though.
