I'm wondering if Lazuli Fixer would be any good for my Ship. I've quickly gained 200 Ranks, but no Decks.
My basic stats: * Rank 522. * 20,400 Unbuffed Hull (As Fixer). * Space: 1363 / 1363.
I'm researching the last tier of Defense, and I plan to upgrade two Defense Modules with the Voliir Bio-Stabilizers. When I get three Velox Thrusters, I'm estimating my Defense to be around the 10K unbuffed mark.
So, opinions?

So, opinions? It would take me an extra 14 shots to disable you if you went lazuli so not really going to notice a difference tbh.

I've figured it out to be 31K unbuffed Hull. Assuming you hit my cap, that would be 44 hits, but unless you have 30K Attack, that's unlikely to happen.
If it's your 10K Attack vs my 10K Defense, then it would take, on average, 254 hits for me to die.
I think that's alright, is it not?

I think that's alright, is it not? your nearing the rank 600 mark which is when rank 1000 players where 30k attack is really not that much. you'd be better off raising defense IMO as they can at least see that when they click to attack you the first shot is normally what i use to decide if i'm going to badge or skip the player. 10k extra hull isn't going to stop anyone if there doing good damage.

Too early and late to check your math, but 10k attack is a bad approximation. You are now going to be getting hit by rank 800+ ships.

OK, but have you taken into account that my Ship is 4x smaller than the majority of people at my Rank? The lower cap makes the Defense even more effective. I'd happily go Xecti, but I remember someone saying that the bonus can be countered with a couple of debuffs.

only ship that your safe from is ShaneBetten, his attack is 10k unbuffed XxDarthDexterxX wrote: OK, but have you taken into account that my Ship is 4x smaller than the majority of people at my Rank? Most higher rank pvpers do not use debuffs when badging as it lowers their TM usage on their runs.

Hmm. I didn't think of that. I think I'd be better of Xecti Fixer then.

just to put this out there im currently getting pegged by rank 800 players, and im only 424, so you may want to slow it up a bit, lazuli fixer is a nice combo if yo have the stats to back it up, but the best tactical advantage in the game when it comes to races is always going to be xect [ insert profession here ]

I'll go Xecti. My Planets will be safer that way.

Lazuli is nice cause it's bonus can't be debuffed, but a Konqul fixer who isn't debuffed is much more versatile and quicker on the draw than a lazuli

Xecti fixer is better for discouraging someone from continuing to hit you - when they initially attack the do less and take more damage.
Lazuli fixer is better for survivng online combat, especially vs multiple people.
I personally would lean more towards the lazuli fixer, but thats because the difference between 10k and 14k defence to me is insignificant, where the lazuli would literally force me to spend 50% more energy disabling you.
Things that can tip the balance include your habits for defending planets. If you beleive in heavy defence, xecti gets the edge, wheras if you rely on cloak lazuli looks better again.
In all honesty, both do basically the same thing (Unless you are attacking something that caps against you anyway, such as exotica or uberbases) and come down to a playstyle preference.

Yes, but Fire's 600 ranks above me. He's not in range quite yet.
