Post subject:  Low Level Freeze Rankers
I been freeze ranking for a bit and just wondered if anyone else is, mainly at low levels and how you guys are going.

I am Rank 4 Aerlen Fixer, with the following ship stats:
50 Decks
670 Cargo
84 Engineers
99 Tactical Officers
38 Helmsmen
88 Scientists

Space: 49 / 50
Attack: 99
Defense: 179
Scan: 1
Cloak: 95

Hull.........Nanosphere Plating
Cloaking...CipherBot
Defenses..Trinity-Core Drive x2

What are your productions?

You are going to need at least 4k Artifact Per hour to be able to pull prisoners to add more Engineers/Tactical Officers.

So the more APH you have the better your ship will be :)

Not possible, at level 4 you can only own 2 planets. I mainly rely on Daily Production from base and some research. Sitting at about 200 research an hour from 1 planet.

That's without any built from minerals Attack or Defense Modules.

I say actually ranking naturally gives a better advantage. ;)

You are constantly falling behind people who have played the game for the same amount of time as you. You will gain a lot of relative strength (you vs others the same rank) but that isn't nearly as helpful as it first seems. Most of this game is about your ships absolute strength.

Take a look at Yung's stats, how are you going to catch his 14k attack based on your current strategy?

OR: if you altered course, and started gaining as much artifact production as possible, you could get more rescued prisoners, more rank points to spend, and thus more attack power.

Best thing you can do is rank up to get more planet slots, that way you get more APH. I would suggest freeze ranking at say rank 100. That way you will have more planets colonized so hopefully you will have better productions (as long as you only take good planets!)

Get your mission exotic and Dyson and max them as much as possible for your rank. I pull almost 6000 from one planet.

Freeze ranking at rank 4 is like playing the game for a couple days and then choosing to actively not play so weeks from now you can play at a slightly better advantage :?

To be fair, this is a Rifted Natural Dyson, but 4000 would certainly be achievable on a Mission Dyson.

I have played normally, ranking in a regular fashion you can easily fall behind, And a rank 1000+ means nothing to me, I am not going to see them.

I will be going for an undefeated ship.

The purpose of freeze ranking is so when you do attack you get the optimal attack for the XP gained, meaning you will rank slower, always be ahead of your competition, get badges much faster as well as more efficiently and generally have a better combat rep. Sure those that rank normally will reach higher ranks faster but they will never be stronger then you at your rank. The only advantage to ranking normally is that you will have an advantage when it comes to planets because that is when the gap between ranks really comes into play.

Freeze ranking at lvl 100 is also an option, but in my opinion the game reaches a new level then and heads down a path the leads more towards NPC and base combat. I think you should try and get all the badges you need before you reach lvl 100 and by freeze ranking at such a low level I will get faster disables, rank slower and get badges relatively faster. Meaning when I do reach level 100 I know I will have a GREAT ship and can enjoy the later stages of the game as much as I want, not try to spend my time trying to claw a badge from any weak members I can find.

every undefeated ship gets defeated eventually. if not by someone in their rank range using an energy cube then by getting alerted to a legion and someone of higher rank disabling them for the giggles.

How about you just play the game and quit worrying about being the "best"?

I am well aware of that, and I didn't mean undefeated in the way the game means it more in the sense of having the best K:D ration sort of thing. I want to be the "best" I can be within reason, not the best in the game.

Also hate to tell you, this is a method of playing the game. The purpose of a game is to entertain you, if I get entertainment from playing this way it is perfectly legitimate.

Your method sucks. Quit slow ranking at rank 4. You aren't earning nearly enough AP to actually make a difference in your ship. Plus you're severely crippling yourself. So you're much stronger than the average person your (really low) rank. Let's see you stay on top about 30 - 40 ranks later. You're slipping behind badly.

A valid point, Right now I just waiting a bit longer for my research to catch up, then I will advance a bit.

Completely true. However it is not sustainable. Freeze ranking is like stashing money under the bed. While your wealth goes up, so does inflation and you lose money. In this case you lose the ability to compete with those who have played as long as you have. You can be a BA rank 4 and a rank 40 can come and demolish you and they will if you pick the wrong target. raid away, make your ship strong..for your rank, but don't really expect to do anything in the game any time soon.

Had not planned to, Working full time and busy otherwise so freeze ranking/slow ranking is perfect for me. I am aware of higher levels and do my best not to get alerted.

ROFL :D Surely so he could compare his mighty slow ranking Rank 4 ship against... against... against...
oh... yeah... ummm... I GOT IT!

To compare against the other mighty ships who have been playing for an hour and have completed the tutorial.
In just a century or two, he will be SUPER AWESOME!!!

When he does start moving, I would very much appreciate any of our legion's really tiny normal ranking members quickly removing that silly undefeated title, so he can reset and start again, freezing at rank 1 ...FOR EXTRA AWESOME ;)

THAT will entertain me :)
