I'm at rank 856, my ship size is 5616, and I have a few hundred ship-bots in my cargo bay. I only increase my ship size when I gain a new module to add-on to my ship, so basically I'm increasing the size as needed. Is this a good idea or should I maximize the size of my vessel?

Thanx guys :geek:

depends on what you want, when i started this game i wanted to have absolutely every module installed on my ship, but now as i progress im find that my attack modules, and close to that my hull modules (researched ones), are becoming more and more redundant. So I remove those as needed to make space.

never add more size unless you have a modual ready to install with that space. if you have 2k decks more than the space of all moduals then you have an extra 1k damage cap with no bonuses.

Pros: costs you less credits in repairing from swapping mods around

Cons: you take more damage and have to repair more often.

depending on how often you hit bases/npc the increase in repair costs may outweigh the cost of changing mods. At 5k+ decks I'd think there were a few items you wouldn't need on full time though (high end scanners, atmospheric decimators, and other planet invasion items are probably needed only rarely and won't cost a whole lot to turn on and off)

At 5616 decks I think you are probably beyond the point of no return on decks. I'd say go for having every single mod available online just for fun.

Well it was an ill considered idea in the first place.

Yep, damage caps don't matter much anyway with enough defense.
