So I've reached a point in the game where I think it's time that I start all over. It's something that I'd like to do, as it's something that I make a habit of in real life. Made a mistake in typing a message? Ctrl + A, Del - Retype it. Messed up a drawing? Tear out the page, start again. Buggy code? Throw it out the window and rebuild it from the ground up. I do this because I learn from my mistakes. Sometimes it's just easier to start again and solidify what you know/your skills, rather than trying to fix a big mistake. So that's what I'm going to do.

Before I reset, I'm going to be building a Level 7 base. It's going to destroy my Ship in terms of Rank : Strength ratio (not that it isn't already bad), so I'm going to post my "final" stats now. Here goes...

So as you can see, it's not the best. It's nowhere near the best, but at the same time it is not the worst. I'll gain my two-year playing Medal on the 1st of May this year. I'd say the one thing that destroyed my progress and strength, was missions. I loved doing missions to get better stuff, so it threw my Ship into a rank range that it simply wasn't built for.

I started out as SSB until about Rank 60, where I decided to do the Kronyn chain, and then Zolazin, then Octafari, then Trellith, Voliir... You can see how it went. I then moved onto an auto-ranking MSB, until about rank 1200, and then I decided to go all out LSB. It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but it's not the SSB I'd once dreamed of having - hence the reset.

My advice to players: Missions can wait. NPCing is much better for your Ship, in the long run. Missions rewards that are % modules are not worth the XP gained.

I'm kinda rambling on, as I do. Please feel free to ask questions if you feel the answer could benefit someone.

Do you mean are worth, because I would say anything that provides a % is worth it as it increases the effect each bracket, prisoner, droid, cell... ect provides

That was a typo. Was supposed to say "are not % modules".

Yep obviously when you reset, focus on arti early and often. Because I'm about 300 ranks below you and my arti per hour is over double yours (and mine is nothing all that special for my rank). That's the key to the game. Play style doesn't matter as much as scanning, taking, and making as many good arti planets as early as you possibly can. With that being said, good luck on the reset!

as i have stated in my SSB guide (hosted elsewhere, pm for link if interested) i think starting and staying as an SSB at low ranks is problematic. better to figure out by what rank you want to become an SSB, and use that deck value to accomodate your module switching.

NPC'ing at a low rank is also problematic. most pilots will only have the 2 initial NPC slots. it took me months to get to rank 75 and i think i might have seen maybe 2 t.o. troop carriers in that time. finishing the zolazin chain early doubles the number of npc slots ... but the xp gain from npc's is not worth the meagre rewards at lower ranks. saddled with a relatively tiny energy bar ... you just won't get the bang for your buck.

post-reset, my suggestion would be to focus on low.xp pvp (hacking and raiding), medal points, and essential missions (for whatever path you are intending to follow). looking for easy reds (minimal energy / xp) is also a priority. after rank 100 is when i would polish off the zolazin chain and begin easing into npc'ing. your first race / profession change also should not occur until that point, so pick your initial race / profession to match what you will be doing for those early ranks.

good luck !
