Medal points awarded: 25
Close Encounters of the Other Kind

Disable a variety of different enemies during legion mission tasks.
Ryelis Orbital Waste, Strazi Combatant, Carjean Sentry, Cerulean Rebel, Roathir Cerulean Base, Bralkir Warship, Darmos Champion's Drone, Silthion Exodrone

Pretty neat!
But my friend and I were discussing how some of the NPCs listed here should not be killed. Killing them could mean auto fail of the mission task.
How do you think we are expected to get this medal then? By failing the task? Or kill the NPC quickly after finishing your task (would you still fail)?

If anyone has tested it out, intentionally or not, let us know.

There is a new twist there "Sometimes in order to succeed you must first fail."

Well it was an ill considered idea in the first place.

Perhaps it's misworded and you just have to do the needful for that NPC.

If that were it I'd have Cerulean Rebel and Carjean Sentry already. As it is I only have the Cerulean Base and orbital Waste ... have yet to see Strazi, Darmos, or the one with the Silthion stuff.

Well then, I guess someone will have to slot up an extra one of those and see if killing it after their task is complete avoids the failure... tricky business!

In the followup to the cerulean conclave under hostile takeover one of the tasks has you kill the cerulean rebel npc

ive not tested any of those npcs, but i do know for some of the others that you have to use some artifact on without killing them, if you kill the npc after doing "stated condition" you still get the completion of the task with no failure
