So just curious if anyone else gets this..

My upkeep slowly goes up even though im not adding modules...

Tonite my arti prod went up, and this is after daily events, and no planets added or lost

I havent paid much attention to mine , but maybe Dan's fooling with stuff, updating things , making tweaks, whatever?

I've noticed a few things fluctuate up and down slightly. Like you, I've had changes in upkeep for no apparent reason. I've also seen planetary production fluctuate and my own attack/defense/scan, etc by a few points, all with nothing on my ship having changed.

for the upkeep going up: you don't heapen to be ranking allies? allies cost more upkeep as they rank up

no all 13 allies have been maxed for a while....i have long wondered if there are increases due to crew size though?

This could make sense....crew size for upkeep could basically mean wages.

Although I dont know why you would wanna pay a bunch of androids :roll:

there are a few "real" people --rescued prisoners etc..

but that does beg the question, how much of the crew are andriods, and how many of the rest are basically indentured servants...i mean at cettain point you are a plantation owner in space

If it kept track of android or fleshy crew, it could open the door for em pulse weapons to knock out android crew, and add a new flavor to pvp and possible npc hunting

mine semes to have stabalized around Upkeep: 57.7B after I maxed out the eye

and a lot of that is from alliees

The Oruas Eye - 13.4 bil
Vortov, Hired Mercenary - 9.9 bil
Kriell, Tejiar Commander - 7.3 bil
Trovar Zane, Elite Tracer - 1.5 bil
Darmos Drone Ascendant - 1.4 bil
Solynia, Technician Elite 1.3 bil
= 38.4 bil upkeeep from allies before Dark AssemblyBot Effect : Upkeep -5% (3 Active)

only one I'm still worknin on is the Ravyn, Covert Operative, but with only a 266 mil upkeep, getting the last 15 ranks on it wont have any real effect on my upkeep


you might not have installed new systems, but theire are a few upgrads that also increase your upkeep

Continuum Parser to Continuum Parser II = + 20 mil upkeep
T-Plasma Dynamo to T-Plasma Dynamo II = +50 mil upkeep
Silthion Hybrid Utricle (0%) to (100%) = + 40 mil upkeep
etc etc etc for LM systems

but unless you are doing a lot of those, it doesnt realy have a huge effect on your upkeep, but is still enougth to slowly increase it over time

as far as the fluctuations in planet production don't forget the occasional planet event upping production 10% for a week etc.
