If a lower level player from a smaller legion invades one of your planets, is it being a "bully" to declare war on them?

You guys thought it was when we did that to Galaxy Desperado's. We even took on the #2 legion in a war. The world they stole was even a mission made Exotic. Just saying.

Don't see why when lower rank start stuff I all ways solo there legion to make it far. +50 ranks is no to bad when there is 10 or more of them I think it makes you even. Pulse if they attack first its self defense. kinda

Edit: My answer is no its not. If they start it its on them

Why do you need to declare war????????

I had a smaller player think it was funny to take one of my planets from me. I beat him to a pulp took back my planet and will beat on him at every opportunity until he drops off my Log.

Is it bullying? No I retaliated for his transgressions. He made a choice. A costly one to his enjoyment for 2 days. I did not declare war on him or his Legion Nor will I. I got my planet back and he gets pummeled for it. I've also let a couple smaller more worthless planets go in this case due to have a better option available to me.

Don't declare war for it. Take your planet back and beat on him for 2 days he should get the message. War isn't necessary for this.

Sometimes a peaceful resolution isn't possible. Lets say they he fluxed it and he can't spend money to abandon it, or maybe they just refuse or maybe, just maybe, happen to not log in the few hours it takes for your totally unrealistic deadline. Maybe their leadership kicks him for any one of those reasons. According to you: still not enough. That is everything possible for everyone except that one person to appease you and they all get punished regardless of their actions.

On the other side there is little you can do to get the planet back except hack them 10 times in the 2 days it takes to dissappear and that only has an infinitesimal chance of working. I think a reasonable person would take it with a grain of salt since they don't expect that kind of reaction for every single planet they take; to have any legion you happen to join totally obliterated because you don't have 5 gp.

basically it is all pompous nonsense that could be handled via PM. Why someone would want to look like such an unreasonable idiot in public is beyond me.

The weak will always find an excuse and this topic is not about all the excuses they could make. The question was simple.

If a lower level player from a smaller legion invades one of your planets, is it being a "bully" to declare war on them?

If you don't care to answer the question actually asked don't threadjack.

if you want yes or no answers to a yes or no question then make a poll and get mad at every person that doesn't post a one word response.

No, I just wanted a clear answer to the question asked. You said a peaceful resolution isn't always possible which I take to mean war is sometimes the only choice. Then you offer excuses for not declaring war.

Their lack of foresight or common sense is not my problem and I don't see why that should be a factor in the answer to my question.

If their leadership does everything in their power to diffuse the situation short of forking over their own hard earned planets and you continue to attack the entire legion even though it doesn't even have the person that actually took the planet, then yes.

AKA the berserker incident

Pretend my original post had an "if" in front and a "yes" at the end of it.

Thats exactly why when one of my members took a paladin planet I said "F it, I'm not dealing with this". There would be apparently nothing I could do to make anyone happy anyways.

The war with PA was not because Beserker refused to give the planet back. PA booted him and I accepted that as the end of that issue but I had more than one issue with PA. If you look up my posts in that group at the time I made it clear my war with PA was for a different reason which I explained at the time and PA has refused to address.

@Kaos.

O.k. Is it bullying????? My opinion here is yes. No need to declare war on a Legion for the actions of a single player. If they chase after you for beating on him then you have a good reason for war. But if it's the actions of one single solitary player you are asking to declare war on you already know the answer. You are bullying.

So Destro, you are saying that a legion is not responsible for its members? That they can take from him all the good things like planet shares, NPC alerts, legion bonus but when he does something stupid that they can claim to have no part of him?

Why would you contemplate war over a planet you lost to begin with? Planet taking is part of the game, most do it given the opportunity, and they're right.

Cheers ;)

I am not questioning their right to invade a planet. They are questioning our right to fight back on the basis we are larger and it wouldn't be "fair". That then leads to them calling us "bullies".

It isn't bullying. But in my mind, nothing is bullying.

Yes.

It is bullying for a significantly more powerful guild to declare war on an entire significantly weaker guild simply because of the acts of one of it's members. Punishing the crowd for the actions of one person is bullying.

It is an over-reaction in any case. Not every aggressive action requires total war as a response. And any legion that cannot produce a measured response based on the action and the threat, is a legion of bullies.

My unsolicited advice - Take the world back by force and give the person who took it a serious beat down for as long as they are on your news feed. Warn Red Dwarf that if they rally to defend the member that wronged your legion, that there will be war.

If they rally... then you would find a lot of people willing to say you have just cause for a war.

Kaos... it's one thing to fight to get your mates planet back, but to systematically hunt down every Red Dwarf player and or planet IS bullying...I take it that you guys just can't manage to take it back so you have to declare war on everyone individually. Lol it's like a child throwing a tantrum...if you can take the planet back then do it...beat down the player that took the planet or those that are actively defending it and leave it at that...but paying for RD planets and or attacking all RD players on site that's bullying...or just being a baby....WAH!
