I can't afford ship upgrades, colonizing additional planets, and even repairs are starting to add up. How do you get your credits? I typically dump my mining load twice a day to try and keep some money. Most I've ever gotten from a daily reward is maybe 10k credits, usually just get research points. |

Mining should be all you really need. Without knowing what your rank & stats are I can only guess what the trouble might be, but it's probably one of these: - You might need more mines. In general I go with about 20% mining 35% research and 45% artifacts. (science officers help with the research.) - You might have weak resource planets. Never build resource structures on anything less than Abundant. - you might need to upgrade your mines. If you're rank 40 with only +1 resource structures, you've got a problem. - You may have researched beyond your means. Shooting ahead in tech will get you fancy expensive items with high upkeep before you can support them. My own mineral income now at rank 65 is 163 per hour, which is less than 20% of my total income. (my art/res add up to a little over 900) I haven't built a new mine on a world in a while, but I do upgrade existing mines whenever the tech is available, and sell minerals as needed. I'm sure I'll need to focus on more mining eventually but for now I always have enough to throw at equipment & colonizing, with a large cash surplus. |

I've been able to afford the 35k upkeep, but it leaves little else for upgrading my existing weapons to the research, or upgrading planets, or getting more planets. |

I awnsered this in the FAQ. Headless though is correct, though personally i go for 15% mining 20%artifact and 65% research. |

im curious why so much for artifacts? im at level 51 and am pumping 700 research and 140 of artifacts and minerals. i got worried i was doing something wrong when you stated your ratios, but Quote: Cothordin wrote "i go for 15% mining 20%artifact and 65%" thats more along my ratio, can i ask why you produce so much artifacts, and does that not slow down your research considerably? |

I put a lot into artifacts because they are the win button. They can win battles, save planets, screw over your attackers, permanently improve your ship, raise your stats, and give you an edge in almost any situation. I also spend an RP on scientists almost every level, which adds up fast. But then again, now that techs are starting to cost 45000 research it might be time to add a couple more gas giants to my empire. |

At rank 42 I am currently producing 295 Minerals, 179 Artifacts, and 435 Research per hour. That's probably too many minerals (32.4% of total resources) but I keep finding very nice mining planets that I just can't pass up. ![]() I do have one very mediocre mining planet (the very first planet I colonized before I knew better) that I plan to drop as soon as I manage to scan some decent research or artifact planets to take its place and fill in my other two currently empty colonization slots. I'm hoping that my next big scanning blitz will actually get me at least one decent non-mining planet instead of all small scarce rocks like the last few times I burned through several Energy Cubes... To echo what others have said, don't go crazy on mining like I have, but definitely get yourself at least one more good mining planet to raise your mineral production and improve your credit income. |

Well, I'm screwed. Someone took it, I tried taking it back.. once it got to the point where it said invade, looked to see if anyone was guarding it under Colony... didn't see anyone so sold my two most powerful weapons to invade it... and then it said I couldn't until I killed the guards. A few hours later it shows that he is guarding it, but now that I'm down well over a hundred attack power I end up losing so I have to spend a lot of credits repairing and it's just a mess. |

I've got 2.3 billion right now. Im working toward getting the next energy crap which is supposed to cost an arm and a leg so I will probably spend it on that. Mining is the way to go as I get a huge amount per day. Currently I get 600 mining an hour. |

Nope, no traps. I've converted the few planets I do have into mining, so I can try and bring in some income to get some better planets. Found a nice Terra planet that says "Legion Ally Occupied," dont know what that means but *shrug* |

"Legion Ally Occupied" means that the owner of the planet has some of the same legion allies that you do. The number in parenthesis is the number of common allies. So "Legion Ally Occupied [5]" means that the person who owns the planet has five legion allies who are also members of your legion. |

Just gotta keep em safe until I can get about a million credits. |

Is it better to wait until your planet capacity for minerals gets close to filling up so you can get the expensive minerals (kinda like arties) or does it not matter? |
