[Special module - size 20 shield 100 shield bonus +5%]
limit 3 per ship
created via collective theory lab
100 xcharge 200 shield amps

say you have 10,000 shield (unbuffed) if you use the 100 xcharge that would be a permanent 500 shield increase to your ship without upkeep, but if you use the xcharge to build this device it will give you and extra 100 to shield and extra 505 (which is 5%) which gives you a total of 10605 shields unbuffed

if your unbuffed shields is less than 10k your better off using the xcharge manually because 5% is not that much unless your above 10k shields.

Note to Dan: I hope there's a way you can adjust this ship module, because as it is right now its not really so cost efficient. i dont think theres a lot of players with 10k shield right now anyways

+1 to that. That is way to many for that if you ask me.

i just thought of this too, either the number of xcharge cells need to be lowered, or the % bonus needs to be increase

Yeah I have about 10k buffed, but as it stands I'm always amp'd when NPCing, I've also got max shield techs on. 100 xcell = 5 x 2 (amp) = +1000 shields, where 5% = 500 shields. However, if you have enough AP to get 100 xcells in a reasonable time then you are probably getting enough xcells to boost yourself quickly anyway. At 50 xcells this would be a definite win.

I think increasing the 'base' bonus (instead of the %) might be the best way to balance this.

How much we talking here with that?? I made it go up to 500 base shield with the model and I'm still not getting what I would need to make up for all the xcharge cells needed to use. That is with my shield at 8K unbuffed.

if it gave you 500 base shields that would already make up for the amount of xcharge cells used and the 5% would give an extra bonus

The Aegis Capacitor Stats have been adjusted. The base bonus is now +300 (up from +100). This should help make up some of the difference from what would be received by the cells.
