Invasion was a failure. Planetary defenses were strong enough to ward off your advance You had a 85% chance of success I had attempted Invasion On this planet. (Don't Worry, this isn't a complaint/whine etc) My Invasion Attack was 3019.5 -Light Singularity Launcher x8 -Leviathan Rift-Emitter x2 -Vortul Blast Phaser x2 -Psionic Amplifier (60) -Lazuli Mind Controller x3 (70 Each) -Dominion Cannon x4 -Crimson Auto-Phaser x2 -Prototype Mech XV -Combat Analyzer -37 Tactical Officers X1.3(Artifacts) stuff like lazuli mind controllers and psionic amplifiers bonus invasion attack are amplified with artifacts Planet Invasion Defence was 1193 (Defence + Attck) --------------------------------------- FORMULA= Your invasion attacked divided by 3 divided by planet total defence. [(Your Invasion Attack/3)/Planet Defence] Convert to Percentage = Chnce of Success --------------------------------------- PROOF : My Case Planet Def = 1193 Iinvasion attack = 3019.5 [(3019.5/3)/1193] = 0.8436 Therefore 84% chance success (It was 85% i know but close) Can any high rankers gimme more data? i need the list of your weapons.. thanks |

My invasion attempt appears to agree with the formula. The chance was quoted at 43%. regretfully no artifacts (neither player nor planetary) were in effect My numbers: Code: gear attack ------------------------------------ 4x Heavy Graviton Shearer +102 1x Light Ion Cannon + 25 1x Prototype Mech XV + 15 1x Psionic Amplifier + 60 -------- =508 1x AI Supercomputer + 5 -------- =513 planet data ----------------------- planetary defense 200 with legion bonus 388 planetary attack 0 planetary cloak 0 passive abilities 0 formula: (ShipAttack / 3) / (PlanetaryDefenseWithLegionBonus) including "AI Supercomputer" (513/3)/388 = 0.44072 Should the "AI Supercomputer" not count it would be (508/3)/388 = 0.43642 Since other threads also require the number of planets occupied and rank for their formula to work; at the time of the invasion attempt: 18 planets occupied and rank 72 The formula seems near enough to the truth to forward calculate the required attack strength. Wow thanks, i think i cracked it  , it seems that the chances are rounded of the nearest odd number, i had failures with alls sorts of chances, 55%, 33% 3% 67%, the only even number i got for invasion failure was 90%

You add the planet's attack, defense, and invasion defense (which has to be totalled up manually in it's structure tab). TK, do your calculations include any +invasion buildings? |

Do legion bonuses count? Do artifacts that lower a planets defense / attack count? |

im sure that your attack includes buffs, special artifacts, etc.; and planetary defense includes the FINAL defense after artifacts, legion bonus, total of all defense types added together, etc. it would make the formula much simpler. |

Nice one.  I'm sure that invasion bonus is just a direct addition to defense/attack for the purpose of invasion only.

Planet Attack is part of invasion defence Planet Total Attack + Planet Total Defence (including legion bonus) = Planetary Invasion Defence Makes me think, we've beenn REALLY lucky during our invasion campaigns, you weapons has to be around three times more power than the planets total defence and attack, so all this time, i thought if you attack was double planet total def, it was 90% , but it was actually closer to 66%. I'm not sure, if stryll pathogens and mutagenic cartridges can be amplified with artifacts though.. |

I'd like to see more data, I always assumed it was non-linear equation but this is simple enough rule to remember. You need a few ppl to fail on a defended planet with different attacks, then note their odds. 3-5 samples would verify it I guess. |

This is consistent with what I've observed in me ill-intentioned piratin' adventures. I did know it was about 3x attack needed but never put ter pencil te it. |

i just did some testing too i was about to invade a planet and wanted to see if it worked here's what i got formula : my attack/3/total attack and def=91% real time: 1118/3/408= i had a 91% IT WAS SUPER CLOSE i think its always a percente off btw i failed even with 91% it sucks

I'm assuming you meant you had a 90% chance in the test, which is the maximum, explaining why it wasn't quite right. |
