This problem as elusive as it can be (if it happens to you you know it but hard to prove to others) is IMO worse than the rank 2200 terraformer rarity problem. After losing so many 15x it really made me mad, even the 12-16k cloak ones when I examined the person's modules who took it and realized they didn't have the scan or they had like a 10% chance of finding it so I think it was rolling against half cloak due to how often things were found but who can prove that. 1-2 such planets lost every week and I just got so infuriated that I decided to sell all my 15x and at this rank no decent terraformers so abandon all hope of creating 15x at this point in the game. Which by the way is kinda the main reason for npcing, all that effort gone poof if cloak doesn't function.
Well I have just had it. At this point no more stressing over lost planets - I don't have anything I can't replace and I don't need to 20k cloak anything. Sweet relief from the cloak problem but fundamentally broken how many people are suffering loses of their most important planets ? Maybe not as often as I was, but enough to feel insecure in their cloak. Sweet Jesus make a log of all the scan v planet cloak rolls and look for anomalies already. Please I beg you. I am mad but I keep it inside for the last 1 year but these problems.... are basic coding problems and can be analyzed and solved with some effort.
People are afraid to say "dude please look at it some more it's an urgent problem" but your last response was on May 21 and it's now August 04 and my guess is you did not find the time to review the calculations because otherwise I would have expected some response here. I don't want to be rude but I am a little disappointed and I thought we had discussed a little more communication with everyone on these key issues, but I am seeing post after post of incidents occurring and I don't think so many people (10 or more, at least half I think are confirmed ?) can be imagining this problem.
Thanks for your time in reviewing the issue. I know it detracts from new features to investigate this problem.

I lost multiple 15x+ planets today. The one I am referring to most definitely had more cloak than the scanner had scan (and was confirmed by the scanner)

Outcast, could it have been scanned during one of your traveling days?

I am usually very thorough in flux probing my planets, and was extra careful on the days I was traveling around, checking them for other scans multiple times a day. I have been where I am currently at for almost two weeks now working on the CT lab, so unless I just missed seeing the extra scan when I last checked, the loss of legion bonus on cloak should not have had an impact (though to be fair, I haven't had access to a PC in about a week, and discovered right away that continually flux probing planets from a mobile device isn't going to happen, so Teneka could have had the scan for days now for all I know)

Planet cloak has been broken since as iong as I've been playing. In fact, I don't know why everyone thinks it works and spends effort cloaking them. That message thats supposed to say something like "your scan almost found a planet" or whatever - I have NEVER seen it come up when I scan for planets, I mean NEVER. Planet cloak doesn't work. Up to 15K scan power and 32K+ scan, I should have "almost" scanned a planet many times.
Dan, why have I never seen that message. It's always planet found or not.

Dont listen to Plurvious, he just wants to be cool by confronting Dan Well, I do want to be cool, but that's a separate issue. I really have never seen that message. Would it make me "cool" if I could prove that? I can video-capture my next scan run if that will help (?). It will take me a bit to get the purgers, but I;ll do it. In the mean time, I need as many players as possible to call B.S. right now ahead of time (it will add to the coolness factor when they realize I really never do get that message). Any formal challengers care to put their name in? Call me out now.

I got the "your scanners almost lock onto a target" thing twice during my last scan run, and I watched a person IRL do a scan run on Friday night and saw the message show up when he scanned too. He had about 16k scan on. So. just because you don't see something happen, it doesn't exist?

Here is my last scan run as promised. 45 minutes worth of no such message: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3lz9PH ... sp=sharingI don't know what else I can do to prove that I never do see that message. I'm open to ideas as to how?

I'm open to ideas as to how? Ummm... perhaps because with 4.9 million planets out there, and possibly a maximum of 100k planets out there rocking cloak of any kind, and perhaps a maximum of 2k planets rocking cloak outside of the range of your scanners, just maybe... maybe there's a chance that you just didn't get the message for good reason, because to get that message in the first place requires like a 1/2450 chance. I've clicked that scan button almost 150k times.... and rarely... rarely do i ever get the message... "you almost locked onto a target, but the planet was outside of your scan range" i went on a 5k planet scan spree around rank 2200, and didn't get that message once, then 2 weeks ago i scanned like 400 planets and got the message twice. Its all about the odds of that message occurring, and each and every time you click that scan button, there's an enormous chance that you won't get that message, because over 4.8 mil planets of the 4.9mil don't have any cloak at all.

Scan being so high that the chance of failing a scan is low. You might have a point there, actually. I'll try it again, with much lower scan. That won't be in the next few days. That will take something like 800 purgers.

I recently made a stupid mistake of letting a player know that I thought my scan was lower than his cloak so as to help fix known issues in the game on the mistaken understanding that planets like this were duplicated rather than the invasion reversed.
Firstly, if you happen to find a planet, don't look at the cloak or your scan on case it gets taken away from you.
Secondly, I am curious to know if anyone else has had a planet taken away from them after they invaded because the game glitched?
