 Battle damage calculations are ridiculous

WWI and the era leading up to it happens to be something of a hobby of mine. The fact is, battleships escorts didn't exist for no reason. A light cruiser or sub that managed to get in close enough could take out a battleship in spite of being completely outarmored and outgunned. That's actual history.

But by my example the battleship is the one doing the attacking. and the opponent isn't a sub, it's a fishing boat.

A smaller more maneuverable target will be harder to hit. If you have more than one gun, odds are they won't all hit the target. It's not rocket science... oh wait, it is. I don't see the relevance of all the naval analogies.

ugh. I wish it wasn't true for NPC's at least. I find myself hoping for NPC's 20 levels higher than me rather than 20 levels lower because they die in fewer hits and give better returns at the same time.

to lessen the effect, the cap will have to be raised. i have no problems with this, but lower level players might.
