Invasion was a failure.
Planetary defenses were strong enough to ward off your advance
You had a 100% chance of success

i just invaded a planet and this was the message on the failed attempt. at 100% success rate why did i fail.

You had a 90% chance of success.

At 90% chance, there's still a 10% chance you'll be repelled by the native population. Just because it's got 0 attack and 0 defence doe snot mean it is defenceless.

As for invasion failing at 100% Remric, I thought it was impossible to have a 100% chance? I might be wrong, but perhaps it's just a display error and you failed on a 90% chance. You could try sending a report request to Dan to make sure there are no problems with your account though.

I wondered about that too - I've never heard of a 100% chance of invasion success.

I was actually suprised to see it too. I just finished the new chasis mission and I invaded the planet. The other day I failed it said a percentage lower than what was displayed I would have done a ascreen shot but I was too sleepy to do so.

Dan made an update, an inactive for 6+ month's planet is now significantly easier to invade, however it seems you can still fail an invasion at 100% which more or less "proves" something's faulty with the invasion formula, so all you "there's still that 10% so it's understandable that everyone fails 90% invasions 95% of the time" can shut up

It's not a series... at least I don't think. It was an old space video game shoot-em-up. Various races, including the Shofixti, little weasel-looking guys in ships that can self-destruct. If you can find The Ur-Quan Masters, you'll find the Shofixti.

http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

Now fully supporting internet multiplayer skirmishes, it's one of the most fun games I've ever run across.

It was originally "Star Control II" made for the 3DO game console, I still have it and play it from time to time.

I get the feel that it was just a displaying error bug that it was supposed to show 90% instead of 100%. That could explain why Remric failed at roll of 10% or less to succeed. Because it's not possible to fail at 100% success rate..
