Ok, this has become an increasing problem recently.

To get a new npc on my battletab, i am having delays of about 8-15 seconds.
Clicking on an npc is normal, killing an npc is normal, but waiting for a new NPC to show up (I.e, every time i kill a previous one) takes an incredibly long time.

Everything else seems to run fine.

This makes killing NPC's more or less impossible :(

I've no problems with this at all. Have you ensured the issue isn't on your end? Have you done the usuals like clearing cache and cookies/history or trying a different browser?

Generally I kill all eight then click the battle tab 8 times. I rarely bother with the little x at the top of the npc screen precisely because it seems to lag.

You get eight surprises too! :D

Yeah, its still an issue.

Its also a problem thats only happening occasionaly. Yesterday I couldnt do anything. Last night I could.
This morning its back to being seriously slow.

Tried Chrome and firefox. Java claims its fully up to date.

And if i wait till the end, it just means i have the delay 8 times in a row. Remember, EVERYTHING else works fine, its just the spawn of NPC's.

Confused.

Not sure what exactly he had going on, but someone (BrianGameAccount/Surveyor I think) was complaining this morning about some NPC lag going on. Don't know which browser he was using either. So it's not just you Gaga.

I have noticed this as well. Not every time, but often I click on an NPC I already killed. Seems they are taking forever to disappear from the bt to make room for new ones.

Just to be clear, Java and Flash Player should not affect your game-play. Your browser version, however, can. If Dan updates GL, make sure your browser is up to date.

Both chrome and firefox are up to date - and to verify, i have had this problem on both of these platforms

Test you internet speed, here.

Remember, this is hapening with one paticular circumstance, and no other.

That being said, i ran the speed test and everything is as it normaly is. 10mbs dowload even with torrents running.

Today it seems to be going fine.. who knows what will happen tomorrow though!

Yeah I'm having delays. Going to test your comments. 6:08 game time
Using the method suggested above sped things up --
--- However even on the Sha'din Charger V I had to wait 3" (Seconds) for the second shot that killed the NPC.
When I just refreshed the BT all 8 popped up quickly (ie no delay)
1-quick
2 -Dark Trafficker XXII -2 shot more than a second, 3 shot about 4 seconds, then fast/normal
3- quick
4- Rogue Tech Collector XXX 2 shot more than 3 seconds
5-9 normal
10- Rogue Tech Collector III 3 shot more than 4 seconds
11- Stryll Assassin XIII 3 shot more than 2 seconds
normal
fresh BT and first 5 come up quick then a few second delay on #6 and then quick for 7&8
WTF now 4 second delay for top NPC in BT to come up so I can attack
Stryll Assassin XXII 3 shot delayed (takes 6-7 for me to kill)
Rogue Tech Collector VI last shot (kill) delayed
refreshed this time last npc to appear on BT took several seconds

I'm convinced their is a problem. Yesterday I reported (in game) to Dan and have yet to receive an e-mail back.

If your too experiencing problems please in game report and copy Dan this thread galaxylegion.com/forum/posting.php?mode=reply&f=5&t=31395

No reason for me to report twice.
stats 28.59Mbps down 2.51Mbps up
for some reason previewing this post was delayed. Yesterday I changed my DNS to OpenDNS because changing my DNS on my AppleTV to googles 008.008.008.008 fixed the AppleTV. Did a test (Ping/TraceRoute) to galaxylegion.com it was fast. Could it be a database issue? Is Dan using Amazon service? Could Amazon be allocating more to themselves this shopping season?

I just want fast easy NPC'ing along with fast Base battles -- both of which randomly get slow for some unknown reason.

Were you downloading or uploading anything whilst playing the game, or streaming? As any of those will affect the speed at which your game receives and sends information to the server.

I would like to say i love how helpfull everyone is being here.

But please remember, this is not simply a case of me having general lag, or personal internet problems (Unless its manifesting itself in a very strange way)

If it was my downloads/uploads, everything would be slowed. Instead, its only getting new npc's... i can hit them at full speed, etc etc. i can do everything else at full speed, etc.

Thats why im so freaking confused :P

Coincidently, its working again today. I can hope its a temp thing? it lasted about a week before i said somthing though...

I have been off and on most of the evening. The lag has been slow for me too; just to co-sign on what Golgotha was saying.

This morning the speed is great.
Also I did shut down all up/down traffic except the GL when I was testing. -- It didn't seem to make a difference. The only time I notice (only sometimes) is during the evening when Netflix is on in the living room and I'm gaming in the basement.

Post subject:  Re: Massive delays on BT

Well it could either be an issue with the server, or your browser loading the NPC data. Give me your exact browser/version, please. :)

I ran into this for about 3 hours yesterday. It started about the time we got to hit a Grivv and continued through a share of a Scruuge Despot... :(

After a few days of not having the problem, i have it again at the moment.

About a 10 second delay. Luckily i was just finding my "free" npc's after a refresh as opposed to being geared up for a npc run...

Close Firefox
Open 'Run'
type in "firefox.exe -p"
Delete your profile (Default user, most likely)
Create new profile
Start Firefox

You will lose all bookmarks, favourites, saved passwords ect with this, but it solves most speed problems with firefox.
