normally you can collect rewards every 20 hours, but i just collected one (an energy cube) and as soon as i did the timer popped up saying 19 hours 27 minutes remaining.

It has been like that for quite awhile. My guess is most people didn't pay attention to the timer right after they claimed their daily. I know it's been 19hrs 27 mins for at least the past few months since I started taking notice after claiming.
