The lag is getting really really persistent of late, multiple times every ten or so minutes and it just drops out for 5-10 seconds.

This issue is always ongoing and seems to disappear for a little while, then rears its ugly head and it always takes complaints to get it fixed.

What exactly is causing this lag issue, and why does it constantly occur, when we're told its meant to have been fixed.

Myself and several others are also experiencing this, so it's definitely something on Dan's end. :/

Yep, I had it majorly around 4-5am GL time today (Tuesday), upto a minute long at times. Suddenly came right for no apparent reason??

Hi all. Apparently there was some database backup maintenance issues last night (or this morning depending on your TZ) that slowed things down a bit (typically this happens seamlessly and has little effect on gameplay). Sorry about that.

bump...

So once again this issue of lag has arisen, and its quite persistent and also appears in a designed format.

I'm not talking the regular kind of lag, as we all get that now and then.

I'm talking about a short 2-3 second lag which appears to occur once every few hundred clicks in-game.

As a mass NPC'er i see this occur multiple times an hour, and it appears more as a coding design than anything else.

If this is the case, then its a shameful tactic. If its not then, its an issue or a coding error, because the fact that its occurring consistently every 400-500 clicks, as well as lasting the exact same amount of time, is glaringly obvious.

So i guess, in a way, i'm asking Dan if this is intentional or is this some wacky coding error gone wrong, because consistency leads me to believe its by design.

Yes, experiencing issues myself. It was working absolutely fine, but then it just started taking minutes on end to switch tabs.

Could it be due to the mass pvp that is going on since the new badge releases? Thats about when I noticed it. But yea.... last two days has been horrible.

Multiple members of my legion, including myself, are having the same issue. Occurs during npcing, doing missions, etc.

I went to EotS for a trade, and the lag increased. After an hour or so, it settled down and it was fine again. I left EotS in a couple of hours, and headed to Technomages where the lag increased. After an hour, it was fine again. Might this have to do with switching legion?

Seems to almost be getting worse as each day goes by, and I haven't left my legion so I don't think that has anything to do with the lag. I'm trying to NPC and am seriously about to RQ this game, NPCing is bad enough without lag...

Pvp is just as bad, I can not tell if they are tread milling me with shields or if their SCR is repairing faster than the blue bar of doom... normally it is the SCR.  :o

I think every one noticed it here in CRA too. It gets much worst during US prime time. I don't think it's coding alone...more like insufficient processing power + deficient coding? Anyways, i think pvp gets it the worst. Bases are slower, but still doable. Npc get those odd spikes like kirk mentioned. Pvp on the other hand get the short end of the stick. I go on a pvp spree maybe twice a month, so i can tell the difference, and it is getting worst with time.

Right now during the US prime time, I can get 1 hit every 2-4 seconds in pvp on regular basis (sometimes the blue bar will just keep on loading to the point i have to refresh the page) now facing ships with unbuffed 150k+ hull and 70k+ shields (not counting the few monsters that are few billion ap beyond that), the "battle" becomes a maddening bout. It is very disheartening, and makes further pvp encounters daunting and inauspicious.....fixxx itttt plzzzzz :D

Yea, it's been going on for awhile now; and it is getting worse. Seems backwards since the player base is slowly shrinking over time.
