Oh doesn't work on raids. Same amount, but no second badge.

Happened to me before. Wolfy and Topper both seem to be able to do that every now and then. The problem is that Dan doesn't even know what a data race condition is, let alone how to deal with it. If someone can manage to get multiple clicks in before the disable registers, they will get multiple kills. Same reason we used to get multiple silvers on base disables.

Dan doesn't know how to ban people? I find that hard to believe..

Simple fix... ban the people that are "KNOWINGLY" exploiting glitch's on purpose!

This is clearly not the first time Wolfy has done this nor is it just him abusing it.

Doing this is no different to how people used to duplicate artifacts like Planet Flux's and Storage Warehouses.
The people that did that got banned near instantly no questions asked! How is this any different?
Who knows maybe people are still doing it? If multiple disables from the same person are possible duplicating items could be too.

I've come to the simple decision, if this doesn't get sorted I am quitting! Others will follow me... the light on GL is fading with all the cheaters getting away with murder. One scripter was allowed to get to 3 MILLION NPC kills before Dan did anything about it... Hope for this game is fading quicker than Dan can brighten the light.

Sent Dan a PM about this but got no reply... People are cheating and Dan doesn't even seem to care...

P.S. Well done Dan, you have built such a great enjoyable game. Until now...

Right now i'm wondering why I even play this game...

Diablo 2 is ancient compared to this and the PVP is 1 million times better.
Not to mention Blizzard even 13 years after creating the game still actually ban cheaters! (Amazing huh!?)

All I am asking in this thread is for the double disables to be impossible just like it is with bases now.

Well, there are always going to be cheaters. I'm not accusing anyone of cheating. I've been hit by the double-disable a few times in the past. Wolfy happened to be one of them, but I just figure it happens every now and then when 2 kill shots get through, the 2nd coming in while the 1st is still in progress and past the point of no return.

Here is why it happens <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_race>.

I agree that it shouldn't happen. Bug and/or exploit, it shouldn't happen. There is something horribly wrong with Galaxy Legion if 2 laggy killshots can get into a data race condition. Lately, I haven't been able to get more than one click in every few seconds.

You should go play that instead.

This is the first time I used both my computer and phone at the same time in pvp and the last, it was a really big hassle. No I am not the first, nor is this even my idea. The one who described this to me, said they used to for exotica, depoping and then repairing on their laptop. Same thing as having multi-tabs. I just used the attack button on both. There's nothing about using multiple systems to attackin the ToS. Mostly I use it when I have some jerk spamming me for hours just caging away and using my other hand to do whatever I am trying to do, usually NPC.

Double disables DON'T cost the victim anything. No extra disable, no extra nano. They lose an action, which they get back in 24hrs. If all you want is the rewards nerfed like bases were then fine, I don't care I didn't even want the disables or reds, take all 40 of each that I got from last night. I only saw 3 instances of this happening.

More importantly, you can't tell who is using a second tab, versus their phone or a second computer. Any instance where 2 or more people hit the same target has a chance of getting multiple disables. It has been reported, and dealt with for anything that matters. Only way to get rid of it completely is to completely change the way PVP is done so only 1 person can target a certain enemy at a time.

You ask a lot of from Dan, make new content, fix glitches, keep an eye out for people cheating. The reason DoS got banned, was because I brought it to someone's attention and they reported it, Dan realized it wasn't humanly possible.

Honestly, that's like asking people who spam during bases to be banned because the artifacts usage clogs up the serves so the attackers have to deal with both the effects and lag. That's not intended or is it planned it just a glitch we deal with.

All that I am asking in this thread is that double disables cannot happen - THATS IT!

I'm also stating that people who knowingly abuse any glitch should not get away with it. Its how most games without cheaters are played. I really don't want play a game full of cheaters because what is the point?

Also condoning that sort of behaviour means you are supporting people that abuse glitches such as being able to dupe artifacts. You don't want to stop this kind of stuff from happening?

A game developer should do all these things without the community even needing to bring it up AND even + 8 hours sleep and even a small social life with the money he makes from us. You don't really think he spends all day refreshing his email box?

Assuming you're being straightforward Wolfy, I like you. I really hope you don't use this technique much. Nothing wrong with messing around with it and seeing how it works of course. Not in my mind at least. If you abuse it as a way to get an advantage I think thats wrong and merits being banned. (You as in anyone). But my point here is, you seem pretty fun haha. Say hi to me when I'm in your legion in a couple days!

Hallucinations, I'm sorry you're so upset dude. I think this behavior deserves to get someone banned under the right circumstances. But I think you should lighten up and enjoy the game. Or yeah, play something else if you're really upset. If you need a change of scenery, come join my legion. I'm pretty fun myself.

*Edit* I got disabled during this post.

I am a bit stunned that attacking with 2 versions of the same ship at the same time, therefore doubling the amount of damage that can be done in a given timeframe by a single player, could be considered as anything other than an exploit.

Not suggesting that Wolfy does it any more often than what he has claimed, nor that his self-admitted experiment is worthy of punishment, but given people have been rightfully banned for killing more NPCs than they could reasonably have done within a given timeframe, surely such a practice is open to exactly the same interpretation of wrongdoing?

The point I would like to make is the fact that a player is trying to circumvent the system to their advantage. It is one thing to accidentally come across a glitch in the game, and when you do, you report it and move on. It's entirely a different matter when a glitch is known, and a player purposely does things to exploit that glitch to their advantage. I don't understand why more people are not mad that someone is, on purpose, trying to circumvent the game to their advantage. It calls into question what other glitches have been discovered that are being abused. And according to the terms of the game, "Use or exploit errors in design, features which have not been documented, and/or "program bugs" to gain materials or access that would otherwise not be possible or available;" which makes it bannable

something needs to be done to stop anyone who uses it to avoid any exploitation of this glitch. It definitely creates a less than ideal situation.

Sorry, I was planning to more or less let this thread alone, but... "It doesn't cost you anything extra" is a pretty lame excuse, to be honest. This...

sounds like you managed to get 2 raids without the 15 minute timer or using a TM. And THAT should be a concern (at least for anyone that cares about the integrity of the game). I have to wonder what happened with the energy usage. Was each click being counted against the energy bar or not?

Um... Wrong. Multi-tabbing still only allows you to do one thing at a time unless there's some input "device" other than your mouse at work with the second (or beyond) tab, which obviously would be a ToS violation. Multi-devicing allows you to perform more than one action simultaneously. It also allows a second person to handle things. Or heck, even running a clicker on the PC and handle artifact use (Nulls, repairing, cages, etc) from the phone. It might sound nit-picky, but I think a case could be made for that falling under this rule in the ToS:

Code:
Use or exploit errors in design, features which have not been documented, and/or "program bugs" to gain materials or access that would otherwise not be possible or available

Like I said I don't plan to use this in an offensive measure again. It was just merely a test, one part was seeing if I could raid twice. I didn't check my energy and production in cargo prior to it, so I asked the person I raided to tell me the result from their end. You can check Morningstar69's comm to confirm. He never responded, so I have no idea the result. I can't prove this next part, but I had planned to report it if it did work. I didn't bother with the multi disables for reasons I previously mentioned.

The way I have been using it in a defensive manner, it has been the same as a multi tab. Just another way to cage/repair, mainly because while attacking is easier on the phone, using an artifact is a pita.

I don't even mind if Dan says not to use it defensively, but if he does, he needs to limit the artifact usage. having people with essentially infinite energy and arts, completely shuts down the game for someone. Especially those with vendettas decide to make the game miserable for someone else. If he only takes away my defensive measure, then he might as well ban since there are enough people who spam me to keep me from doing anything offensive. Worse is the ones with 0 disables doing this. Which I have zero expectation of Dan resolving in the near future, since he said he would only do it if enough people wanted it.
