It's a common mistake, but the part that is currently called a "Dampener" should be called a "Damper". An inertial damper would reduce or negate the effects of inertia, allowing quick maneuvers without turning the crew of a ship into paste on a wall. A "dampener" would make the inside of the ship wet. |
