I alerted to Rare NPCs yesterday. I then left the legion to try some diplomacy but wasn't able to join the other legion so came back. When I rejoined, my legion could no longer see the original NPC alerts and the NPCs say "Alert Sent" so I can't re-alert them.
What happened?

It's always been the case that the alerts disappear when you leave the Legion and don't come back if you rejoin. Anybody on it will still get rewards if you finish it, but they won't be able to fight it anymore.
It would be nice if they changed it though.
