Sometimes the timer of permanent buffs buffs changes to reflect temporary buffs. On your ship for example, the Anubix 3% attack buff will often show the timer of your next expiring buff even though it is permanent.
In this case it looks like you set a planet trap or xecti artifact.

Could be, it has...

Vorean Specimen Tests : Population +30%
(9 hours, 53 mins left)

...but in the case you pointed out, the time matches that which is left on the temp buff. I'll take a look again when the Vorean Specimen Tests expire.

Kinda hoping this means Sub Caverns are been phased out though, would lead to a greater chance of getting useful perm effects instead ;)

It's got nothing to do with temporary buffs or anything.

It's an issue that arose a few weeks back, which at the time affected permanent events such as acr, rings, moons and stealth screens.
