I look at the leaderboards daily and up until last night, IronBallsMcGint was sitting comfortabling at the top spot for totall hacks as he has been for a long time.

Today I checked and I noticed a New top dog.

Galaxy Top Players - Hacks

1. Abarden Vygoid Excavator 31370

This player is a level 51 (Officer) in Space Ghosts. It seems odd he would all of a sudden appear at the TOP spot of a Leaderboard. Apparently you need to be at or above rank 50 to appear on the Leaderboards.

There are probably loads of people who belong on the leader board but haven't actually levelled up yet... I know of one that has about 13k Hacks...

"Belong", really ? Are there players only playing and hacking 24/7 ? Could it not be to expect to get critical hacks and share planets to their main account, for example ?

It is of course this.

Without being able to see the age of said players ship, they don't have the ability to generate those kinds of amounts of TM's and lets be honest, his legion doesn't either

I know someone who should be on the leaderboards too but is smaller than rank 50 but he doesn't have that many hacks as abarden has.

Even if they do know it, there are some resets that want to do things differently. I'd feed a reset TMs if that's how they wanted to play. At level 50, he has enough blues for the rest of the game and doesn't have any really good planets to lose if he crit fails.

true, but odds are this is an alt...a side project for someone who wanted to top the boards...the odds of such a low rank crit hacking anything EVER of ANY value is so negligible...so either the player is a part time player, who found something easy to do and kills time doing it (this is really giving benefit of the doubt), or its an alt...

hacking is so widely viewed as tedious and boring, i cant imagine a new player saying, hey, rather than playing i will simply logon and take 99 shots a day at hacking..some of which should fail no matter what....when i go out hacking im at like 30k+cloak and well over 15k scan and i fail 5-10% of the time...let alone someone rank 50 ish...

the razor says go with the most likely answer----

My calculations give me a possible 221 hacks per day. (The normal 125 actions plus 1 hack every 15 minutes). So that would take quite some time to reach.

Captain Clueless strikes again !!!

the existence of a leaderboard can be motivation enough, without dumping out the alt accusations.

there have been previous insta.leaderboard appearances by others.

GloriousNippon debuted at #16 on the hacks leaderboard and #43 on the raids leaderboard upon reaching rank 51.

of course, he quit playing soon afterwards, but he did something that very few people in this game can say they have done.

i've heard about Abarden for months now. i'm glad to see that he finally decided to jump into the spotlight. hopefully he will start playing the rest of the game now that he has accomplished his leaderboard objective.

as for IronBalls sitting 'comfortably', with Ignatnic now closing in fast, IBM will have to get off his rocking chair ...

I don't think a <lv50 can do the LM to get the +25 actions per day.

Oops for some reason I thought 125 was the "normal" limit and 150 was with a maxed Temporal Containment Shell.

That then puts his maximum hacks per day playing 24/7 at 196 a day (also assuming he TM locks everyday and he never fails and get the 5 minute waiting time).

so kind of off topic a little...after the first day of maxxing the hack opps...assuming you are tm locked you could TRY a hack once every 15 minutes...which keeps you at lock...that means 4 /hr x 24 hours a day = 96 a day after the first

Not really odd... I see that player hack consistently everyday for a long time.

you are forgetting 1 little thing here, a hack only counts if you actualy pick up RP's
I dont bother to probe, so usealy get credit for 90 to 110 hacks if I do a full 125 actions hack run

and Quantum Firewall Trap.....
bedst guess is I set off 50 to 60 of those on a 125 actions hack run - so unless you also have quite a lot of Null Fuse (Uses Left: 20525), those traps will slow you down
the trick is, Null Fuses cant be traded, you need to pick them up from your AP's - so no Nulls = no hacks for 1 hour or so

multihaking the same target you know have RP's ofcourse can increase that ratio of successfull hacks
and will also reduce the number of Quantum Firewall Traps you set off

but all in all, your max 196 hacks pr day is proberly closer to 150 successfull hacks pr day
or 30.000 / 150 = 200 days for 30K hacks

or if you reduce the number to 100 successfull hacks pr day
30.000 / 100 = 300 days for 30K hacks

or less then 1 year for 30K hacks

considering the game have been running for close to 6½ year now, and the first wave of restarts proberly was 3 to 4 years ago
it not realy a suprice if someone actualy got to 30K+ hacks before rank 50.

I already made a post about him before, he's been playing for years and all he does is hack, however, he doesn't multi hack people and also manages to have one of the strongest ships in his rank range. Pretty sure he was #1 about 4-5 months ago but the level 50 leaderboard barrier is the only thing he had to pass. Pretty cool achievement to enter the leaderboard at number 1
