I'm confused. Do they or do they not tell the hacker and the hackee which planet's location is revealed?

I am sure Dan will answer, but my understanding is, the crit now reveals info to both parties.

the update says it'll reveal the planet info to both players, and then anther one that says it won't reveal to the hackee...

I'm totally confused on the contradictory status of it.
Quote:
Critical Successful Hacks will now inform the hacked player about the planet that was discovered. (Note that Critically Failed Hacks remain the same)

Quote:
Critical hacks will no longer indicate the exact planet name when messaging the hacked player.

crit hacks DO NOT inform the victim which planet was hacked. take it from experiance on both ends of being hacked and crit failing. the new change was the player who got the planet hacked from them did not have it show up in their news feed, and that was changed. but the name of the planet is still a secret so that the hacker has a chance to steal it.

One more thing - the hacked planet is always one that the hackee currently occupied?

No, not true. You can hack an unoccupied planet or even a planet your target does not control.
