Would it be at all possible (Or advisable) to allow base scans for 5 blue badges as well? For those who focus on hacking red badges are hard to come by. Not to mention it seems to make logical sense, that those who specialize in locating and hacking enemy ships, would be able to do so to enemy bases as well.

To easy. If other badges are used, it would have to be at a difficulty ratio

uhh...
5 reds
10 yellows
25 blues

Blues are easiest to get and yellows don't have much items for it.

Not sure if I like yellows being used (Technically I would prefer it to be only blues) since reds/yellows don't really have much to do with actually finding a base hidden in space.

But idc one way or another lol, I just am looking out for some hacker friends who end up with hundreds of left over blues since inner-bypass' are considered underhanded by most people.

Another idea I was toying with that is related to this, would be using 5 blue badges, to guarantee locking a base of a certain level on your next red badge scan. In other words using your expertise as a hacker to locate things easier. (Though I'm open to that being more than 5 badges as well.)

Hmm... interesting. Realistically it's sound. But again, if your hacker friends want to dump blues then the amount should increase for base levels.

i.e.
Level 2 - 5 blues
Level 3 - 10 Blues
Level 4 - 15 blues
Level 5 - 20 blues
Level 6 - 25 blues
Level 7 - 30 blues
level 8 - 35 blues

Yeah I kinda like this idea more now that I think them both out. Either what you listed, or you can designate a level you are trying to scan, and for an amount of badges equal to that base level (i.e. 8 badges if you want a lvl 8) you can increase your odds of scanning that lvl of base. So for 8 badges a 10% better chance of scanning an 8, for 24 badges a 30% chance etc. That way those rare few who have a lvl 8 base are safe from most people guarantee locking on them like it would be possible with the set prices

I like the idea of a certain number of Badges for a certain lvl base, this would open the chance for Hackers who want to help their legion out a bit more.

And also you wouldnt have to waste badges on strong bases no one in the legion can disable...

exactly since there are a lot of hackers this would work out pretty well, and would be beneficial for most legions and a lot of players
