Honestly.
We have a great community. We just need some positive direction and we can build it stronger than ever.
what needs to change. Our forums need a shift to a positive outlet and a refuge from all this negativity that runs rampant on it.
We need strong leaders to rise up and form a positive flow of direction. Encouraging positive behavior and discouraging negative.
That's just the kind of stuff I'd like to see changed. AMEN!!! On a side note, I like to nominate myself.

I would vote for Aiyah she most of the time kept a level head and had a friendly manner with her dealings with others as well as from time to time stepping in the middle of a depute and break it up peacefully.
Also Mojo would be the other one I would pick he has been consistently helpful and friendly to many of the player base here on the forums.
MLP would be a good one to if he could get some of his bias about points of view out of the way he has been at the center point of many actions that would only be called griefing in nature.
Dflag would be a reasonable person as well but also with a few but's in place the biggest one is his lack of patience when it comes to dealing with "stupid" people.
(P.S. I'm not putting these names out to be kind or nice to put it bluntly anyone who gets the job of forum mod will have one hell of a bad time cleaning up this cesspool of a mess, also the having to coordinate communication between dan and the player base would be a headache in and of itself. All in all to who ever gets the job good bloody luck because your damn well need it.)

People with prior forum management/modship experience is a must for the amount of work that's necessary for shaping this change.

As Webguydan already stated, any new moderators will be handled anonymously to prevent any accusations of bias. One way I plan to keep my identity (and those of any other new mods) will be to summarily delete/lock any posts/threads speculating on who we are.
I realize that this will be a tough job, but I think we have a great community that has done it's best to keep things from getting out of control. With your help, we can fully restore order to our forums. I look forward to working with everyone to get this back to friendly, drama free, funloving escape zone.

Well, sir (or ma'am), congrats on the promotion to moderator. Its cool that you are "anonymous" because now you have plausible deniability whenever (and if ever) you choose to inject/enforce biases, agendas, and subjective perspective that belong to you as a player of the game. *It is not my intention to make any assertion as to what moderators may or may not choose, the motives thereof, and/or their player identity.

To make it perfectly clear... I feel that the individuals selected should be individuals which have made it clear are neutral/unbiased in their dealings with other forum members. Dan is clearly going to choose whomsoever he deems a good fit for the role however it should be a person who is neither sweet nor salty.

Please try not to be offended by my following list if your name so happens to be on it.
I think that Golgotha, ICBLF, and mojo311 all have severe superiority complexes that make them completely unsuitable for moderator positions.
Fireblade225, kirkeastment, Sparky, Failname, imrockerman All jokers/wannabe trolls.
Darth Flagitious troll.
I don't know
Tree7304 FerrusManus Rarek Wolfy Minion
any of these people well enough to have an opinion. That leaves a narrow list and a huge amount of work and responsibility. ...I don't think most of these people have any idea how much work is actually involved in maintaining a healthy community. Furthermore: itsSoulPLayAgain can't spell worth a damn.

Please understand that my intention with this post is to remind everyone of the trends these individuals have shown and that in the best interest of the community it would be advised to very carefully consider the downfalls to having this negative trait individuals holding a position of power on the forum.
Clearly Dan will choose whomsoever he deems most appropriate to fill these roles however it is imperative that we, as a community, come forward in an honest fashion to present our best not necessarily our favorite people to fulfill this tremendous roll that Dan has presented.

Topic aside, as a player i am just direct, i don't sugarcoat anything. Which is often taken offensive by some and as a troll by others. On that front people are just offended far to easily by the manner someone says something nowadays.

Well from that post, it at the very least suggests that you are someone who cares a great deal about the forums being a friendly place to visit. I hope to see many a thread closure in the future, as it'll be like the asylum of the daleks soon enough, insanity abound as people test what they can and cannot get away with. Hopefully Dan has chosen more than one person to fill the role, as clearly the job requires coverage for different time zones, so good luck to whomever you are, and good luck to whomever else has been chosen to get the other position/s, if there are any other moderators to be chosen of course.

This made my day, Honestly anyone who nominates themselves or tries to curry favor to get the job of mod needs to be automatically took off the the list of potential candidates but the hardest part of finding someone to be a mod will be finding a player who wont go on ego trips, lose their temper, and not be bias the other bits that dan pointed out of being able to edit the forums can be learnt on the fly if need be.

Really? I thought I was infamous... I meant on a more personal level. I've seen you post but I've not really seen you post. I feel no emotion when I see you've posted, you've not left a lasting impression on me at least to where I'd have either a positive or negative opinion. It's not a bad thing.

I don't know anyone well enough to say that they are qualified to be a mod.
The list seems to be a method to attract people willing to accept such a responsibility and somewhat show activity. Dan never said he would go strictly from the list on the first page, but that he appreciated the effort to lessen the work he would have to do finding people to do this.
No one should think that Dan didn't go further and actually do some homework, talk to the people and make the decision based mostly on what you cannot find in this thread.
Also, welcome S. Hawking. Nice name btw. I hope with the new mods that things will start rolling smoothly.
