You say we have Quasi-Spacial Expander. But you have artifacts that increase the planet resources too, and yet we have the farmers that will tell you there are many NPCs to grab those from.
If its a money issue then make the mission something you have to buy artifact for.
as for the 1000KU, no offence that's nothing. there are players that rake that in per day.

Good point, and I agree. Each unlockable race has some awesome, if not overpowering effect, that you gain from being only that race or profession.
Zolazin sabs: Taking out structures on planets and being able to invade them when you would have no chance otherwise.
Lazuli: 50% added hull
Not gonna list all the others, those are just the first 2 that jump to my mind. But you know what I'm getting at. It's all up to what you are willing to invest your energy, and sometimes $ into to become the awesome race or profession that gets you what you want in your game. An unstoppable ship, ability to upgrade your planets, taking others awesomely upgraded planets. And choosing one or the other then no longer allows you the bonuses from whatever race you were previously. It's about changing your gameplay to whatever fits your current mood.
It would have to have a mission chain that takes a considerable amount of energy like always, possibly even some $ arti's to finish so that you would have to really want it, and profit Dan lol. And like it or not, it should be opened up at a later rank so new players are not running around with all massive x18 planets, and achieving ridiculous research and what not right away.
With some worked out details, +1. Very good possibilities with something like this.
