When you were a lowbie you rolled your eyes at guys who complained about getting yet another XRP battery (or crimson hull, etc) while you had none. Now that you've likely had a full set of those forever, you don't want another one. However, you know that those ships go down easy so the dash of CTP you get for scrap is worth the energy. (And when you complain, your lowbies roll their eyes at you.)

Apply that to parsers:
1) You, like me, don't have a full set (or a single damn one in my case)
2) You don't like hearing about people that do.
3) Eventually you'll get them all.
4) You won't want a 5th...
5) AND IT'S NOT WORTH THE SCRAP CTP IF YOU DO!!!

I'm not sure how folks are missing the point here, aside from basic jealousy. I look forward to your celebrations when your 5th parser rolls around and your fantastic ideas for what exactly to do with it.

Now, allow me to explain something to you. I don't do things for my own benefit in this game (though, I always do benefit). I do things for the benefit of my legion. Will I be pissed if I get a fifth continuum parser after taking down a base? No. Because I helped my legion take down a base, and THAT is what is most important to me. Doing my bit for my legion.
