The mission for low-rank range actually seems like a decent idea. Bit like a 'second chance' for those newbies, and the mission topic would help point them to 'save that for abandoning'.
Also, I still believe that top 20 is overkill.. even in base fights. If you look at the top legions, bases get murdered daily, that's a lot of GP going around. An alternative suggestion could be number of NPC kills within a 24 hour period..
Suggestion being: Artifact: Eagle Eye Target (cheap name, something much better can probably be brought up) duration: 24 hours not removable by artifacts effect: Gain 5 (or 10) GP for killing at least x amount of NPCs during the time period that the artifact is active. Reward is gained when artifact goes out IF target number of kills has been met x being dynamic according to your energy capacity (because if you went by rank, you could easily have an unholy amount of energy to get easy GP) and high enough to make it a challenge
would come in at say maybe.. 15000 AP points, uncommon?

i'm still at the point where i can lower my energy to almost zero..... actully it would be below zero but the game won't let me so~
how many NPC do i need to kill to get my daily GP?

That's what I'm not sure about. People of a few ranks would have to do all out NPC run with a full energy load to see how many kills each one pulls out of it, with how much energy they cap at. This would be to get some kind of logic behind the energy-ratio comparison. I also think it would have to have a timer to it like abilities before it can be used again to prevent abuse, possibly a week?
..All though now that I mention it. This could be an ability gained from a new mission, instead of coming in through AP pulls. A 1 week timer before being usable again and a high enough number of kills required to achieve it within 24 hours would make for some kind of decency without over-powering.

Maybe make a mission along the lines of "The Zolazin Battle"
you get 3 artifacts which allow you to change race and profession. how about a mission which gives 3 artifacts which allow you to abandon a planet.
to negate multi-abuse, Can only be used on a planet which hasn't been alerted for 48 hours and can't be colonized by a member of the same legion.

KT812 wrote: possible solution. Put a mission in, fairly early.. say lvl 25-40 range. offer 'planetary evacuation plan' as a reward artifact. 2 or 3 reps, offers a free abandon to help those players who choose badly on their first 5-10 planets because they were noobs instead of spending 10 GP. this offers a limited solution so people can't just planet hop willy-nilly. but helps noobs like I was live and learn instead of crippling themselves. Like this suggestion

ha! i was reading thru this not noticing the dates..... then i saw Kaos and i was like: WTF!!??!! lol awww sadface rofl
I think there should be a secondary way to abandon planets.... i dont like subtly running off in the night, and keeping my miners overtime pay... i would like to see something that blows my planets up. preferably round and starwars-ish..... >.> k

Actually I would like an item to do it repeatedly.

BinaryMan wrote: Actually I would like an item to do it repeatedly. maybe program a mission similar to the XTS-9 mission? it wouldn't have the risk of crew death(unless wearing a red shirt) but would have a small chance of mission failure (resulting in a 10% decrease to planetary production for 12 hours. Non-stackable)?

I would risk crew death and crappy xp like XTS mission to get an abandon item ! There's no other good use for it, the XTS-9 mission rewards just suck (1000 of it for 5 not that exciting buildings ??) I would use 1000 XTS-9 for abandon item mission -- think how that would make it a viable item again and then people would trade it.

Actually abandon = invade cost , is pretty fair. Lower ranks have an easier time fixing mistakes while learning, and higher ranks with lots of planets have to pay a bunch to dump planets. I don't see any abuse potential since share timer still throttles all trading of planets. Oh please.. let us abandon for credits.

Not EVERYONE has the luxury of Buying GP. As for price, Maybe Invasion Cost or 2x Invasion Cost...

migth be a good idea make the credit cost as much as invading a planet coudl also make a mission that is repeatable that lets you abandon that is really costly

BinaryMan wrote: Actually I would like an item to do it repeatedly. I have to agree here and it can't be from some early mission for noobs in their rank 20's. It would have to be a mission / drop from an NPC / or reward for any rank in the game. Dan needed to make money somehow in the beginning of the game so it was a good idea to make us spend GP's to leave our noob planets so we had to buy more. As the game progressed we had more things to spend GP's on things like new artifacts and the never ending demand of energy to complete the missions in the game. He's still making money by making us use GP's so he's going to have to make money in it somewhere whether it be energy in a new mission or something else.
