Truces are inconsequential as it is and even used in the reverse action of how they should be with both nets and halcyons. If you don't PVP anyways, then it shouldn't be a problem. It makes a bit of logical sense seeing as how a ship is a ship. It wouldn't be the end of the world for anyone, since anyone using other people's halcyons are freakishly active and are pretty intent on waiting that hour anyways and you can use containment cages on nets. Let me propose this situation. 1. Player A gets attacked or invaded by Player B. 2. Player A wants revenge, so he omicron traps Player B. 3. Player B uses Containment Cage to get rid of Omicron Net. 4. Player A throws another Omicron Net. 5. Rinse and repeat until Player B runs out of containment cages. 6. Player A is now free to lock down Player B 24 / 7 if he so desires and has enough Omicron's stockpiled up. A bit extreme, yes, but it is possible. Now think for a minute. If this is aimed towards the Dysonians, it won't really work. The Dysonians can generate way more artifacts per hour than anyone else. That means they can easily gather hundreds of Omicrons between themselves, and just omicron whoever they're at war with or hate, 24 / 7 after forcing the other legions to burn through their containment cages. Then the Dysonians can just farm NPC's and isolate a legion nonstop while the other enemy legions will suffer with no PvP revenge AND no NPC's to boost themselves up with. This is no different from abusing halycon traps. Different artifact, different concept, but the SAME exploit and "kill PvP" strategy. I can store 20 hours of energy with relays on. Using that many nets is a waste of energy. They are generally pointless right now because all they are good for right now is wasting someone's containment cages anyways. All you really have to do is wait more than a few minutes and not spam your containment cages. Or better yet, just leave it on. All nets do is allow the opponent to have initiative in PVP and hack/raid you from absolute safety. They are generally pointless to use right now.

How are people targeting their friends? It has been a long time since I could target anyone on my friends list. And I rarely come across any on the tab, in fact I have not run across anyone from my friends list on the tab.
-1 to the idea. Why punish some one? I could randomly pick people on the tab and start netting them so they can't fight NPCs.

Nobody said anything of the sort. The thread title is about being pacified against NPCs. Obscura wrote: How are people targeting their friends? Well I am not going to publicly post how to cheat the system but there are certain players we pound on that I see do it often. There is no way that everytime we mass attack them suddenly its over because they were only netted at that particular moment.
As for someone saying "everyone does it" my kid gets spanked for using that excuse. Sad to see that some people have the attitude of an 8 year old when it comes to cheating.
Just as easily as you can net me all day, I can do it to you. The easiest way to avoid that would be to leave each other alone. Which is the point of a truce artifact. So actually I think my proposal would work quite well. You don't truce us, I won't use my 15000 artifact points an hour to truce you.
Traps are meant as a deterrent. Omicron Nets are meant to keep players from attacking. Neither one do what they are actually intended and both are used to game the system.
If it doesn't get fixed we should at least change their name to "Hiding Trap" and "Safety Net"

Like usual you guys take things out of context and then cry foul. The, "everyone does it" reference was in regards too attacking someone in order to use up their artifacts. It is not an excuse, it is part of the game.
I think someone needs to spank you and send you to bed with no dinner for your excessive attempts at manipulation.

This also has nothing to do with the currently proposed suggestion and omnicron nets do not currently effect pve. We are definitely not the only ones doing this, everyone does it. Erm... I was proving why the idea of making Omicron Nets effect PvE pointless. Even if the idea isn't implemented, the problem still stands. Whoever hoards more Omicrons than the enemy hoards containment cages can perma-lock the victim into no more combat for as long as the stockpile lasts. If someone produces 4,000 artifacts per hour, and the victim only produces 1,000. The aggressor is 4 times more likely to get more Omicrons than the victim, and wears out the Containment Cages faster. PvE's who appear on battle tabs who do no PvP at all gets Omicrone'd repeatedly. Then that PvE'er can't enjoy his NPC's because of the Omicron trap that he didn't do anything to deserve (no hacks, raids, or even counterattacks back aganist the attacker)

just to put my little 2 cents in here:
Omicron nets: IMO I like the idea of not being able to raid or hack with the net because if your netted how can you get to the piont of raiding them, or maybe your cloaking isnt good enough to hack someone. Im sure this isnt a issue for higher level players because I think alot of ppl have cloak and can hack the crap out of everyone. but for player that have the disadvantage of have not enough cloak can get netted then hacked to hell. and that isnt very fair to them so IMO I think it should comepletely take them outta pvp but cut the time in half like 2hrs instead of 4, but still allow PVE. and for the friend netting maybe it should be made that you cant throw inhibitors at your friends, that way you have to fight your friend only with the buffs you have.
Halcyon traps: IMO I think they should completely take a person out of pvp and pve for that hour making it missions only, and if your worried about not enough mission im sure dan has a few more in the old idea bucket for ya.
Calming Amps: IMO I think 12hrs is a long time for you to not be able to fight, but you still can get hacked and raided(if you are disabled) and they can be taken out with missles. so IMO that they should be reduced to 6hrs and you can only use it like a player alert. like if you are hacked, raided or disabled. that way when you are completely taken out of pvp you cant just hit some one then throw up that veil. that way it makes it a defensive tactis, and as a defensive weapon IMO I think that it should be containment missle resistant again IMO. and in doing that it will hopefully deter ppl from picking on far weaker oppents.
PS: this is all IMO so I'm not critizing anyone not saying anyone is right or wrong but from what I have read this are some changes that IMO would make these items better in a way.

Yea I'm aware of what it is, it was proposed that artifacts would not be able to remove a net. Nice attempt on the petty insult, too bad you don't know me at all.

I say leave it the way it is. It's working now and to change it will cause some problems.

I agree with Bob on this one, it would utterly kill the game, but not so much from nets but from halc traps. Nets can be gotten rid of by cages. Traps are immune to everthing. Personaly halc traps are KILLING pvp right now. Likewise nerfing their rareity by a LOT would go a long way in breathing some new life into pvp, and likewise would make nets that much more valuable, but nets arn't quite so bad in and of themselves as they can be countered with cages. Having them make it where you can't attack NPCs though is a realy bad idea. They used to do this and there's a reason why Dan changed it to the way it is.

Plain and simple. If a CC player new that an h-trap would stop him from fighting NPCs and super leveling, he would less like to be an arse and pick on people.

What about the player who doesn't pay and doesn't be an ass? It would be a big roadblock for them, even more so since they can't spend their way through it.

Kaos wrote: Plain and simple. If a CC player new that an h-trap would stop him from fighting NPCs and super leveling, he would less like to be an arse and pick on people. Here we go again. CC vs non-CC players. CC players make up such a tiny % minority of the game. Why change the game to nerf CC players when it will actually nerf the game for everyone else? What effects CC players will effect all non-CC players. Also, we have the problem of random players on battle tabs. You're staying out of PvP, clean as a whistle. Then suddenly, someone attacks you off *their* battle tab. They shoot omicron nets on you. If this idea is implemented that omicron nets can't be removed by containment cages, you (who don't PvP) will be unable to finish or fight the juicy rare NPC you've been working hard to kill. If the attacking player is an ass, he could lock you in perma-omicron effect for as long as he wants since you won't be able to get rid of it. Therefore, players who DO NOT PvP at all and who PvE exclusively will have their gameplay ruined by those who abuse omicrons if this idea is implemented. Don't say "Get more cloak". On my current battle tab, I see players level 100, and I'm level 165. Now that's 60 levels worth of decks and advantage over the level 100 players. Pricks can easily pick random low level players off their tab who has no chance of evading the prick with hiding and cloak. Same as what can happen right now with regular PvP, but will be made worse if the omicrons are made immune to removal.

The only person that said anything about containment cages not working is bobsmith because he wanted to troll the thread.
right now omicron nets are totally useless in terms of PVP and we were trying to come up with an idea that made them better for more than just a loophole in the game. Not hunting NPCs while pacified will also reduce the amount of halcyon targetting. You can assume the worst if you want to. All it takes is NPC hunting before you go raise hell and I doubt anyone would have the artifacts, energy, will and link to your ship to be able to or want to do it. Everyone thinks it would be the end of the world. If someone hits you with one from the battle tab, then you dissappear off their battle tab, you get a link to their ship and nobody can attack you anyways or even has a link to do so and you can take it off with a cage at any time. Maybe you could wait 5 minutes before spamming another containment cage. I highly doubt it would be the nightmare scenario you guys seem to think.
