This is a war game and people have to understand that. However people can be nice to each other even just once in a while. I change my views on things every so often, but atm I usually move on when someone hits me or even twice. I start to change when it becomes more then once in a while and I tell the person the next time they think I am fried chicken that they will become the prey for many days from me. I have fought tons of people from legions at a time with little or no help and as Fear stated they are all 200-500 ranks ahead of me. Simply put if u do not want to be someones prey then u need to do something about it to where your more of a problem then it's worth.
I can name a half dozen or more players that I have done this to and will be doing to. Jtaries is the most recent one. Hes been visiting me very often and it is usually when I am on my phone and at work and just with family. I told him the next time he touches me I will make his gl for a few days hell. This guy is 1871 and I am almost 1300. His response is to demand I be put on kos by his Legion ROFL. My response is I will kick the snot out of every ic member that not only touches me, but everyone I find on my BT and I will do it over and over and over till they get the picture. I went through this with them back in November when Scumby thought it wise to disable me 6x in a week. I went after him and he alerted me and so we Danced and 90% of the ic players wanted no part of me. Jt is usually kicked out of every Legion he is in and is very mentally unstable. I would of thought ic is even better then JT lol. So this is the official warning to ic. You put me on kos because someone almost 600 ranks cant control himself then you dig your own grave and will have more players leave your legion cause I wont stop.
That is how I handle things when it is time. I also feel bad when I am hitting people off of BT and they msg me asking me to plz move on as I have hit them 3x in 2 days now. If its a nice msg I apologize and move on. A rude msg and I send an arrogant msg in return and if I am alerted then I go after them+ make the guy who alerted me realize his big mistake.

In the end you have to stand up for yourself if you do not want to be someones meat. I would start off by msging the player with a nice msg asking him to move on and then go from there. Some people wont and will come at you more and then you have to decide if you want to continue to halc up and be a little girl all the time or go after the bully and yes they are Bullies.

:P

JT has been on good behaviour and has been a valuable asset since he came over, you still spew crap from your mouth at every third or fourth syllable, so yeah...

lol penguin you are a compulsive liar i told you i would treat you like i do with icarium now all of ic members and leadership will all back this up when i mentioned it i did not say legion kos i did not say i would be alerted you as you are not worthy for an alert you have a attitude problem... what the matter your feelings are hurt over a single not multiple but a single badge hit you have issues and you need ot see a dr about it. as a heads up i will not be responding back to your comments as i am going to stay on this guys topic

as for your claims of me being booted from every legion i been in mention just 1 legion i was booted from please do this... as every legion i have been in i have left on my own free will so there is another lie coming out of you now this has nothing to do with a flame war so back off of that topic and get back onto the guys topic.

and as stated before i do not agree with what this topic is about and sadly as much as i do not like some of the people who has made comments i agree with the place a calming amp and then a halc i also agree i probe players as well and so does allot of people use every single trap you own chance's are you will not be hit as often the traps alone will tell the player you are under a halc and allot of times people do not want to waste energy and possibly a null fuse at your rank just to snap a halc trap

Can we change this game some how so that you are not disabled 3 times a day when not halced

If you cannot halc, then you did something aggressive, which makes the situation your fault. If you did not do something aggressive, I assume you are suggesting that sleep or work precludes you from setting amps or halcs, and the simple fact is that is how life and the game interact. Best change would be to ask for the duration of amps to be extended by a couple of hours, but otherwise, the somewhat unkind "suck it up" would be the general response. If you are saying you are actually getting disabled three times a day despite not being PvP active, then you should stop letting legionmates repair you, use the defensive artifacts (amps/halcs), and stay disabled where possible.

I have posted before about the battle tab being unfair when someone 600 ranks above you can disable you ....it's hardly a fair fight.

If I remember correctly (and my memory is horrible), you did not exactly get a positive response on that thread. More "unfair" than rank differences are ship strength differences, time played differences, and/or Artifact per hour differences, so noting rank differences alone is hardly going to garner much support. I have taken out several higher ranked ships, both stronger and weaker, and despite being somewhat experienced in PvP, I am still not completely sure what would constitute a "fair fight." I can assure you, rank is not the most important fairness factor in and of itself. (Oh, and in actuality, being higher ranked in PvP is a huge disadvantage for those who did not know.)

garthrax wrote:

Alternatively, you could simply look at your ship effects. Yeah, I know you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of that, but at least it is a shorter list than your news feed.

Or maybe if you dont attack anyone ie an NPC player then lower the number of times you can be disaled to 1 instaed of 3

Anyone have any ideas on this or better ideas ?

Not to be sarcastic, but I was under the impression calming amps and halcs were the way to opt-out of PvP. Again, if you really want to enact some sort of change, recommend an extension to calming amp duration. Any other change would probably be inefficient to enact (including, at the very least, wasting Dan's programming time).

One of the earliest things I teach new players is to not mind getting disabled, but some people simply cannot help themselves and care anyway (most of my disables these days come from Gemini cannons, since I am lazy and careless). I am not trying to be offensive, but bluntly, if you actually are not PvPing at all and still getting disabled more than once per day, you might simply not be active enough, which several might argue is your responsibility.

TL;DR Mostly what has already been said with the addition of most efficient change would be to simply extend the duration of calming amps by a couple of hours.

In terms of your original proposal, I would have to say that while several of us offered good advice, Shinar's was most on point as to the best way to address your concern in the manner you desire. i.e. extend the calm amp duration.

He just wants less disables ex: action counter is 1 3 3 instead of 3 5 5. 1 disable per day should be enough and maybe it should be changed. 1 1 1 would work as well

I agree there needs to be an option to opt out of PvP. I don't do it, even though I have 63 disables.....but it's been literally over a year since that number changed. I am sick of being attacked and hacked. I have my traps to protect me but they don't always. The QFT also needs to be changed to protect a player from hacking completely.

let's take the absurdity a step further...

I don't want anyone to touch MY planets... I mean it... not even the cruddiest one... so lets let me opt out of having my planets stolen... sure I can't take yours but odds are mine are so much prettier...especially if I do it at my current level as opposed to being low ranked..

this is a war game first and foremost... some love missions, some love npcing... some love pvping... If you don't like it we have the following:

-max your cloak. With luck the only ones who can see will not be able to get badges...
-use calm amps and halys... that gets you minimally six hours of peace... hey you have to sign on thereafter but if its worth the peace of mind why not.
-up your defense and hull. forget offense. go ssb... No one guns for golgotha because even though he doesn't follow this, it is truly a pain in the arse to kill him...
-farmville closed I hear but they opened a sequel...

Sorry to be snide but the outrage at the idea of getting killed in a wargame has just gone over the top...

I wonder why ppl soooo concerned about being disabled, raided, or hacked. Is that number means SO much to them?
You're being disabled, raided, or hacked, and WHAT is your LOSS ? A mere 5 minutes, or at most half an hour worth of production? Then why it means a lot to them ?

My computer took a dump, and all I have to play this game on is my phone. Good enough for most aspects of the game, but for PvP.....pfffft....not a chance. So I am one of the perpetually halc'd/amp'd. I usually can go a few days without a disable, and no I don't get to reset every 6 hours. I'm rank 850(ish) and I accept the PvP aspect, don't rightly care watching my rep fall from insane tho. PvP happens. Most games have a PvP aspect to them, and very, very few let you opt out. They all have protection tho, like shields for a time after you've been raided etc...so does this game. GL just has a shorter time frame on invulnerability, and more savage players.

The effect of calming amps could be extended to 6 hrs without any real effect on the game. Anything more than that will undoubtedly have players up in arms. If you really want to piss people off, bring back the omnicron nets, those were good for getting PvPers off your back. (that was a joke guys, don't hurt me)

okay we all get dan to raise the calming amps to 6 hours but he gets rid of the halc traps all completely for what they are used for now so if a halc trap is on ship it does 100 damage lets say to the attacker instead of making player not able to hit like the calming amp lol

Another suggestion would be to allow a number of traps placed on your ship according to size class. The bigger your ship the more traps you could have, this would apply to all ships, reguardless of traps. A scout would have one trap slot, could be any trap he wants. The bigger you get, the more slots you have, this way you could "layer" your halc traps for more coverage. Although I recommend limiting the untripped traps duraton to 12 to 24 hours instead of a week. Yes that also means more thetas or gammacron for you more blood thirsty types, but hey, it's a thought. So if a "Battleship" class ship is say 6 on the scale, then he could have 6 trap slots, for the more passive types, this could mean you can have the complete invulnerability you want, as long as you reset them every twelve hours. And if they were then made a slightly more rare drop, it would even out. Just trying to be peace maker here and find some middle ground.

Really, you really thought that that would be a good idea?

Four Words - Six Krionus Virus Traps

That is the very death of PvP right there. People would go through their null fuse supply in the time it takes to kill 10-20 ships, then you wouldn't be able to PvP at all.

I'll say the same thing i said in a thread about 12 months ago.

This Is A WAR GAME. Your Ship Is Going To Be Disabled, Get Over It.

There Is Already A Way To Gain 6 Hours Of Protection, You Don't Need More Than That.

Just playing devils advocate here, no matter the solution, suck it up or otherwise, someones gonna complain. I'm sure there's middle ground to be found.
