inactive inables the kick button. i agree. also should be more than just 3 levels member officer leader. how about other positions options like diplomat or strategist or squadron leader just to add some spice to it. all have same benefits but there role is more defined

some get really excited about their "Title"
and some mergers get hung up on getting the Leader Title,
+1
#1 Founder/Leader or impresario (to be fancy)
#2 Co-Leader
#3 1st Officer or Commanding Officer
#4 Officer
#5 Member (could change to GreenHorn or fledgling) just so they know they at the bottom...LOL

Each post above has valid points.
I feel the Legion founder should have a protected status, not a special position.
1: Legion Founder cannot be Kicked from the legion. 2: Legion Founder has the sole authority to disband the Legion
In conjunction with this...
1) I think officers and Leaders that become inactive for more than a month should be automatically demoted so that the Legion can carry on it's business.
2) In the absence of a leader... one can be selected by the officers of the legion by majority.
3) Legions whose entire membership is inactive should automatically be eliminated.
One more thought....
With the amazing proliferation of legions totaling 5 members or less... an option to merge legions should be made available. A side option to automatically re-rank members of the lesser legion to one lower level as they move to the new legion would be very handy as well.
This is what I want to see happen, I love this guy (no homo)

I just love playing devil's advocate when it seems everyone agrees with an idea...
What happens when the Founder leaves the legion for a planet share? When he comes back, how does he get back in? Automatic join? Automatic promotion? What happens if the Founder decides to permanently leave the legion? Or quit the game altogether?

I think if somebody isn't there in the highest spot then somebody else is promoted to it randomly, probably the highest rank in the highest position. Other people can be promoted to this position as well, and a person can demote themselves from it. The only difference between a Leader and a Founder would be Leaders can't kick Founders and Founders can disband, so it seems like that would work fine. EDIT: Though I'll admit it would require more work to make it promote somebody to Founder in the absence of one.

I'd say founder can leave come in with instant approve and promotion
if founder is inactive 30 days Co-leader would be auto promoted (if original founder returns within 30 days after, founder goes back to co-leader)
heres a twist to it, make everyones "Position" automated based on % of activity. (excluding Orig. Founder)
??????????????????????????

many legions exist only for the ego of the leader/founder...
......especially the ones with a small number of people
(this is true with the multi-player groups in any game, regardless of what they're called: legions, alliances, guilds, harem, etc.)
if you need to be in charge to be happy, then don't ever promote anyone past officer.... the end

I am in the Rangers, and this is our only problem... I don't think it is that Josh doesn't trust the to-be leaders, it is just the fact that if one goes 'rogue' then his authority is safe. This should be implemented as a safe guard to possible people that play the game to annoy people.
DAN, we need some type of feature that protects the founder of the legion...

I have suggested a position between Leader and officer before something like a vice leader A vice leader could: Promote a member to officer Demote a officer to a member And can kick anyone at the rank of officer and under But they can't kick the leader or disband the legion We can call them LTs or something i'm not good with names viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2982
