Look at the suggestion / invention for its own merits. Don't reject anything based on who made it. It's a form of singling-out, which feels rather discriminatory.

Man you all really hate Asheron. I don't spend enough time on the forum to understand your reasoning, so w/e.
His idea, actually has some potential. Instead of what we currently have, it would be its own stellar object. However we already have legion bases, so combined efforts for these would be redundant. As individually crafted things? i can see it being ok. Have a mission chain to unlock the capability to make them, and make them cost a truly ridiculous amount of resources to build to completion, but let them be built in stages.
Make them able to be raided, but not captured.
Being "man made" you obviously would not be able to gain minerals from them directly, but if one of the upgrades you choose to build is say... an asteroid collector?

I actually have some more ideas, but only if this thread isnt going defunked with hate for someone.
