Hi all,

I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. You only have 200 xp left to the next rank but for whatever reason, whether it'd be a 12+ hour work shift or a traffic jam, you have more energy that you would need to rank up the next level. I am always trying to maximize my energy and take relays offline when I know I am gone longer but sometimes things just happen. It would be nice to have something that would suck up that extra energy that you have left, lets say you have 600 energy but only need 100 to rank up, you are going to waste 500.

What I am suggesting would be a new type of ship part. An auxillery power system. You would "deposit" energy whenever you think you have to much for a certain cost, lets say 10:1 at the beginning and as you research more it would go down to 3:1. Meaning you deposit 10 energy into your auxillery power system and have 1 energy to spend on whatever. It would have a max capacity of maybe a 100 energy to begin with but later on up to 500. It would require an extra bar underneath the energy bar that wouldn't recharge but be used up when you need it most lets say for a weekly mission or a war with another legion or something like that. You wouldn't really get that much more energy but it would be better than wasting the energy.

Let me know what you think. I am certain that a lot of people would appreciate this new technolgy
Cheers

Nice idea. Usually most people dump excess into their legion base, however, the idea of energy "storage" is quite nice, and I would use it at times. I especially like the energy loss aspect of it, which would stop people saving up massive amounts very quickly.

This could even work as a planet structure, an energy bank. Each one increases the limit.

I agree something like that would work. I am suggesting it because at the moment our base has all the energy that it needs and we are only waiting for CTP's to upgrade. After that I agree you can dump excess energy into it. It would be nice if the energy might be autumatically transferred into the storage when levelling. For example, you only need a 100xp but you partook in some elite that would give you 100+ xp but wouldn't be destroyed until after you are back. That way you could level and excess energy would be transferred into the system while you are away.

I like the idea, but an easy solution is to contribute the the legion base or do some scanning until you get to the required energy need to rank up, but still good idea.

getting a little ahead here, but it could even be the case that the effect doubles on metallic planets, but halves the population if one is built (metal conducts electricity etc)
