i posted this in another thread, but i feel as if it is important enough to warrant its own thread. We obviously need new high rank content. however, actual new 'content' is pretty much restricted to the low rank players. understandable at this point in time considering the majorty of players are under rank 100. but as this game progresses, the average rank will change. honestly i think only releasing low rank content is a bad idea, because as dan is beginning to see, the higher levels are getting bored and leaving.
one idea for an alternate system of missions is to release high rank missions alongside the low level missions. This most recent mission took me about 2 hours to complete. It also lasts 2 weeks, which is rather a long wait, especially when i hit rank 350, so i dont really want to NPC anymore until i finish the standard missions in the list. but anyway, my idea was that the low level missions would be released for 4 weeks instead of 2. this would solve the noob problem of not finishing them on time, and if they do finish them, then they can work on the standard missions. Rank 150+s would get 2 missions based on the story line of the present quadweekly, and would allow them to get some extra content based on their tech level. and level 350+s would recieve a third mission that would be available for 1.33 weeks, and would be more suited to their tech level.
so a rank 149 and below would only see the default mission, which in the latest case would be Returning the Message. a rank 150+ would recieve a mission that would allow them to encrypt the message so that it would transfer to their ship easier and they could arrive in time the next time around. and rank 350+s can recieve a mission where you fly your ship into the black hole to overload your reactors with enough energy to stabilize it. i mean, once you have syncopated plating and proxy universe reactors, this dosnt sound like that hard of a task to complete. the missions would become available at a later time for all the low ranks that missed em, but at least it would give the higher ranks something to look forward to. especially considering the speed at which they complete missions.

I like this, I don't remember who posted it, but it wasn't too long ago, there was an idea about choosing different story arcs, giving different rewards. Which would be quite nice. and this idea gave me one of my own, I shall go and create the post now
