Some people like it, some people don't. Lots of players complain about it. Why not just make it optional ? Set counters to 0 by default. If you hit someone, you are now a target. You can even make that toggle to the normal 3/5/5 counters when you take an action in a given day. Think of this as a pvp "flag" which is common in other games.

By the way, how many low ranked NEW players do you lose due to pvp frustration (no matter how silly it seems to experienced players) ? Give them a warning if they are in "safe" mode or whatever.

Exploitable - lets say that you've just annoyed a big legion by stealing one of their planets, you've minimised what they can do to you - you just stay disabled for a day, and keep your resources used up, and then you're in the clear.

it takes 2 days for your counters to reset. and your on their tab for 2 days. if this was changed from 3/5/5 to 0/0/0 then invading a planet would have to give them 10/10/10. this is a pretty good idea, especially for people who dont like or cant pvp.

So if pvp is turned off.. can you not invade my planets? I think its silly .. at its heart this is a war game that pits you against others .. its not like there are NPC planets or something for you to much around with and experience the fun of the game without the pvp element.. and there are plenty of games out there that you click and level up .. Fortunately GL is not one of them .. everything in this game is based off some type of pvp, missions get you items to improve the stats you need to hack and raid other players, killing npcs gives you items that help you improve your planets to get your resources to allow for you to pay for the modules that allow you to hack/raid/kill/invade other people .. legion bases .. built around the idea that give you another persons home to attack.. Seriously .. if you have no desire at all to pvp this isn't your game .. To give you the ability to not be hit off the battletab is just whining .. stop .. you aren't going to complain about taking someones massive gaia that they didn't defense up properly so stop complaining about being hit off a battle tab once a week..

I agree an opt out of PVP would be great for this game. Let each play the game how they enjoy it.

Planet invade is unaffected. But if you so much as attack a planet you immediately enter pvp mode again.

>> there are plenty of games out there that you click and level up .. Fortunately GL is not one of them <<

Well actually it IS once you realize that npc farming is the only feasible way to get really good planets. pvp may amuse some people but it's generally not that efficient for any long term gain. It's a matter of preference.

>> you aren't going to complain about taking someones massive gaia that they didn't defense up properly <<

I didn't say anything about planets being protected.

I just still have to disagree .. pvp is just too integrated into the game. So someone who is pvp optional .. now can they share an enemy occupied planet? thats pvp.. if someone who is pvp optional steals a planet from me .. now I can't hold a grudge 2 days later when his pvp flag is off I have no way of getting at him now? The only way to make pvp a true choice would be from inception when you create your ship you turn pvp off permanently.. At that point "Invade Planet" is no longer an available button "Alert Legion" is no longer an available button, pcp portion of battle tab should be removed, once you take over a planet it should be flagged so others can no longer scan it. pvp just touches too much stuff for it to be an option on and off
