Dan,
What about traps that can be created that do not reduce stats as much but can not be removed by a null fuse? For example Halcyon traps can be converted into a trap: Temporal Dislocation Trap: Adds 20% defense against PC to the attacked player for 1 hour.
Krinos virus traps: Multi-Viral Defenses:Applies a 15% debuff to the attacker that can not be removed for 1 hour.
Quantum Firewall: Phase Dislocation Trap: Applies a 20% debuff to cloak for 1 hour.
Nothing that will utterly stop a player from doing things but something that makes him think. Do I really want to risk this. Percentages obviously are subject to change but the idea being something that makes you a little more intimidating. Maybe limit one active application of these per ship at a time.
