 Repair bays on stations

no offence Dan but they suck.


Any kind of improvements would be great.

Sorry for saying this but they suck.

One person repairs and then everyone has to wait 30 min before using it again. That's horrible and a waste of space on the station.

What I was thinking so as to not just trash the whole idea cuz I do like them but in this game the practicality of using them suck.

How about a progressive hanger that one can dock there ship at. 30 min would be the max time

while in the repair bay though you can not do any kinds of action. If you leave your ship in the

bay after 30 min or upon hitting max hp your ejected.

say it fills your HP up by 3.33% every min. And up to 4 ship may enter the bay at one time.

This I believe would make it more affective same for the shield charging stations.

After using the bay however you are bared from it for 15 min.

especially complicated!

BUUUTTT chris is right on that there's a problem.

Instead of the 30min timer for the entire base, no matter who uses it
Please consider individual timers

While it might be considered, maybe drop the individual timers to say, 20min?

Or baring that idea:

The base has it's timer, but can repair up to as many times as the base's level with each spot having it's own timer:

Ie level 3 base.

Ship 1 repairs and the 1st spot is set at the 30min
ship 2 repairs and triggers the 2nd spot
ship 3 repairs and triggers the 3rd. There, a spot doesnt open until a timer runs out. This plays into using the level/ 'size' of the base to consider being able to cater to more ships.

the paid repair and the base repair really shouldnt be on a shared timer...

The whole shared timer thing is excessive.

If timers MUST be had (and yeah, in some cases I'll admit, it must) everything should really be on it's own timer.

If there was no timer, than the other alternative is to use the Base's ability points instead.

Wait. The Base Repair is on a shared timer? Don't I feel like a jerk now...

Yeah, an individual timer would make way more sense. I see no harm in it at all.

I agree the ability points are far to important for that.........


What if we use EM for it. And set a limit on how many times the base bay may be used in one day. say 40 repairs a day or one use per number of member in legion..... but anyone can use it until maxed out.

and every day it refills to number of members.

true... and to even have a repair bill of 200M, they'd need to have at least an upkeep of 1.2B (600M if they are builders)... if they can't handle the credits they're paying in upkeep and repair, they need more mining and smaller guns... the repair bay would/should only be a temporary solution to hold them over till they fix their spending problem

my biggest issue is that the repair bay is also restricted by and resets my own 5 minute repair timer as well...
