New Mission chain: Terran-Human Reunification

This mission I thought of is based mainly on the Romulans from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Every so often the Romulans would convince the Federation that they wanted to reunite with the Vulcans. But then it turned out that they were planning to invade and conquer Vulcan or the Federation.
My idea for the first mission in this chain would be that you came across a ship in distress(Dan can think of why). You stop to assist the ship and it turns out to be the ship that is carrying the President of the Human Federation(Or whatever Dan calls the human nation). He is so grateful that he invites you as his guest of honor to accompany him to his negotiations with the Terrans.
I have three different ideas about where the negotiations would take place. On the Terrans capital planet, on another Human vessel, or on your ship. You are brought in as a neutral third party to help with the negotiations(this is the second mission). I do see how the neutral third party thing would be a bit of a problem with the "Human" players. I'm sure Dan can find a way around that.
The third mission would be that after the first round of negotiations, you see some Terrans sneaking around and decide to follow them.
The fourth mission is that you follow them to the Human President's quarters and discover they had planted a bomb. Now you must disarm it.
This is as far as I have thought it through. But my main idea for how it ends is the reunification between Humans and Terrans(the official govt.), while creating the Terran Outsiders(a terrorist group, even though technically already exists). The only difference now is that if you are a human, you get to choose between whether or not you can have a human ship or a Terran ship and you have access to Terran artifacts.
Open to suggestions, please voice your ideas on how to continue and end the chain along my ideas.
