Somewhere along the line, we are going to have too many useful, dropped pieces of equipment that we don't want to lose by selling but we might not be using at the time. While expanding your cargo bay is a good idea, at some point, you will run out of space. I would suggest that I safe Galaxy Storage Depot be created where we can store a small amount of these. I would suggest 2 of each kind (2 weapons, 2 sensors, 2 cloaks, etc) as well as say 10 artifacts and maybe 2500 things from the 'special' tab. When I say 2 weapons, I don't mean 2 crimson auto phaser, 2 crimson auto lasers, etc, I mean 2 items that fall under the weapons category. I do think that the cloaks and sensors should be separated out. Since we are already up to more than 2 of each thing (multiple crimson items, at least 4 kinds of special sensors, psionic amplifier, etc), I don't think it would ruin the cargo/space balance but at the same time allow some of us lower folks the ability to not carry as much we will want for the future. I would say also say that the upkeep on items stored there would be 125% of what it currently is (to pay the storage fee). So a psionic amplifier with an upkeep of $5,000 credits would be $6,250 stored. |

I like this idea...and it kinda ties in with previous 'Home Planet' ideas. Basically, I think of a structure that could be built on one of your planets, that would have it's own 'cargo' stat, and maybe a boost to defense and attack. I'm not sure how many spaces it would take... |

I just thought of this idea, that the on-planet storage grants a bonus to cargo capacity of your ship. (representing the storage space of the planet easily) If the planet is taken, any minerals in that upper portion of your cargo space are taken with it. And it is reasonable to say that you would only store your cheapest minerals there, if you even need to. For example: Ship A has light storage building on Planet A. Ship A has 200 cargo space on the ship, storage building holds 50. (at a total of 250 cargo space) Ship A has 250 of each mineral they can store. (225 cargo taken up) Ship B captures Planet A Ship B gains the lowest 50 cargo. (25 empty space and 25 cargo of Dynite [= 250 Dynite]) |
