I believe a couple of months ago soemone suggested that flamehawks drop ancient crystal foci and Dan said it was a good idea but I believe it still has not been adopted.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9140Only thread I can find on this. I don't see Dan commenting. Anyway. Not reached Flamehawks yet, but getting ominously close to their younger brother, the crimson hawk. +1 to it being added to the hawk and flamehawk.

Here's one of my old ideas on the subject:
Flamehawks have a chance to drop "Crimson Base X Co-ordinate", "Crimson Base Y Co-ordinate" or "Crimson Base Z Co-ordinate" After finding one of each type, you can combine them to make a "Crimson Co-ordinates" artifact, which you can use to find a Crimson hanger, an insanely strong elite NPC, with 20-50 drop slots. After killing it, everyone gets a random "crimson" reward, but the top 10 damagers also get a "Flamehawk Scrambler" artifact, which prevents flamehawks for showing up on your BT for 2 days. The person who "finds" the base also gets an extra artifact - Scanning frequency fluctuation chip, which can be "installed" in a decryption quadframe. This doubles the quad frame's bonus (so +50 scan and cloak instead of +25), and gives the following ability:
Frequency Fluctuation: prevents the ship from scanning flamehawks for 6 hours. Cooldown: With 1 fluctuating quadframe: 48 hours With 2 fluctuating quadframes: 40 hours With 3 fluctuating quadframes: 32 hours With 4 fluctuating quadframes: 24 hours
SOMETHING needs to be added, be it a drop, a reward, or a "breadcrumb" NPC or mission.

Only issue I have with flamehawks is they take too much energy to kill.. I can kill a bunch before i have to repair. But energy drain.

Crimson Amplifers already drop from flamehawks (this was added a long time ago), though the drop rate is much lower than the obelisks.

yes i notice the missing uncommon version or whatever that dropped the amp but we thought you'd be adding the crystal foci as well from that comment.
