Armour research
We are currently researching ways to penetrate the toughest ship armour - we need your ship to conduct live tests. Assist us, and we may develop something good...

Risk: hull damage each round.
5 completions.
On completion: Iridium Bracers. add 10 to your hull for every installed hull module.

Weapon Channelling
We have discovered that if we focus our weapons on certain points on the armour, we can easily finish off weakened enemies. Provide us with some ACFs to advance our research.

You can provide dark void foci OR ancient crystal foci. DVF give 10X the rounds that ACF give.
1 completion.
On completion: Dark crystal charger, ship module, size 20, attack 60, gives ability "final shot"
Final shot: Free to use, instantly kills a solo NPC who's hull is under 5%. 2 hour cooldown.

Power Absorbing
After disabling enemy ships, we've discovered that they give off unusual energy pulses. Help us find a way to harness these and use them to our advantage.

Provide any "energy" related artifacts to advance, dranikk power cores, krionite torpedos, etc.
1 completion.
On completion: energy assimilator, ship module, size 20, Max energy +40, grants "assimilation" ability.
Assimilation: Grants you 1% of your max energy instantly. Usable if you are less than 1% away from your next rank. 12 hour cooldown.

Just a couple changes I'd make:
1) 5 min cool down
2) Does not work on elites/bosses

I said solo NPC - that covers most of it.
And the cooldown at 5-30 would be fairer - you're right.

1% of 9K is 90 energy

How about making it like 4-5% to make it more possible to rank up with bonus energy.

At rank 173, am I right in saying a full level is 6960 exp? If so:
with 70 exp to go, I'd get around 15 energy. That's almost enough to get me a full rank, if I use it right.

Perhaps 2% then? 30 energy to get 70 exp isn't hard.

Remember, this is a FREE BONUS.

I would just be using the power 1 right before level up if I needed it or not , just to put some extra energy into the base , so more then 2% would start to make it over powered.

It'd have a minimum rank of 100-150. And you usually install all reactors and drop all relays pre-ranking too, so that'd get more.

You can only use in when your 1% from a level , so have it give 1 energy for every 2-3 xp needed.
